I have two suggestions, if you'd like to try them.
1.) Roast beef (rare is nice), ripe tomato, and boursin cheese on crusty french bread. Boursin cheese is a soft cheese you can find in the specialty cheese section in most stores.
2.) Thinly sliced turkey, Monterey-Jack, and strawberry jam on soft white bread. It's a nice combination of sweet and savory. Sometimes I grind some pepper onto the sandwich to give it a little kick.

I love this question and I've loved looking at the answers so far!
My favorite is peanut butter and home grown tomato slices on toasted white break. YUM!
But after reading about all these others I'm hungry to try something different.
I also like something my mom made us as kids, not fancy, but here it is: a fried egg sandwich -- fry an egg, spread mayo on one slice of bread and ketchup on the other. Slap it together and ENJOY!

This is a grilled sandwich, like a grilled cheese just a little more!
Bread
Hard Boiled Eggs, shelled
Green Onions, chopped up
American Cheese, sliced
Sour Cream
Butter
Take two slices of bread. Spread sour cream on one side and cover with slices of Hard Boiled Eggs. Sprinkle pieces of green onion over top and then lay two slices of American Cheeson on top of it all. Top with the other piece of bread.
Butter one side and place butter side down on the grill/skillet. Butter the other side while you wait for side one to brown then flip brown side two. The cheese melts and the flavor is awesome!
I hope you enjoy!

have not tried this yet, looked good when Paula Deen made it on food network
Croque Madame Recipe
8 slices sourdough bread
very thinly sliced 12 ounces smoked ham
very thinly sliced 8 ounces Gruyere
2 to 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
5 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 extra-large eggs
Salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Butter 1 side of each bread slice.
Set half of the slices of bread buttered side down in the griddle or cast iron skillet, and cover each with a slice of cheese.
Place 3 or 4 slices of the ham over the cheese, and place the top slice of bread over the ham, buttered side up.
Heat griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwiches until bottom is golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3 minutes per side.
Remove sandwiches and place on a plate.
Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the top of each sandwich, and then place a slice of cheese on top.
Put the sandwiches back onto the griddle or skillet then place in oven, cooking until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in skillet over high heat. Cook each egg sunny side up. Turn egg over and cook 3 minutes longer for a soft-cooked egg, or 5 minutes longer for a hard-cooked egg.
Repeat with remaining butter and eggs.
Place 1 fried egg atop each sandwich. Season egg, to taste, with salt and pepper. Serve sandwich immediately.

Hmmm unsual huh?
Let`s see..
I`d recommend my all-time favorite sandwich, Guacamole Chicken Sandwich
My mother makes it for me all the time on weekends :)
Especially if you like guacamole (like me) you`ll LOEV this one x)
You will need:
2 hamburger buns (or torta/sandwich bread of your choice)
1-2 avocadoes, chopped in small bits or mashed with spoon, 1 more avocado sliced lengthwise
1-2 pickles sliced lengthwise
1-2 Roma tomatoes chopped, 4 Roma tomatoes sliced lengthwise
1 chopped Jalapeno or Serrano pepper
1/2 cup chopped lettuce
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, boiled
1 onion, half sliced into small bits, half sliced into rounds
grilled bacon (one piece)
1 lime
1 tablespoon of salt
1 cup chopped cilantro
1 cup bread crumbs
2 slices of Cheddar cheese
corn oil for frying
Make small incisions in chicken breast before boiling. Season chicken as desired. Mix the chicken pieces with the bread crumbs and fry with round onions on skillet.
To make guacamole:
In a mixing bowl, season chopped or mashed avocadoes with salt and juice of lime. Add cilantro, chopped onions, sliced Roma tomatoes, and chilies; mix well. Refrigerate until the rest of the preparation is finished.
Toast bread.
Once the chicken has finished frying, top with sliced onions, cheese, bacon, lettuce, pickles, and sliced avocadoes.
Spread guacamole on toasted bread and serve with either sliced pickles or sliced avocadoes on the side.
Good Luck w/ finding your perfect sandwich recipe :)
