Most popular times to go to the movies is the weekend so the easy pricing model did not work on the movies.

They had an added problem in that a nearby movie complex changed their prices to put them out of business. They also owned the land that the easycinema was on so increased the rent to put them out of business.

People often confuse no-frills with bad service. When people get bad service they don't buy from that store. So, the store (or movie theatre) closes down.
