Shes angry at her mate because shes probably getting close to having puppies and is irritable. Males never stop trying to get with a female. He will be even more snapped at when the puppies come, and to keep the peace keep him away and give her some room, though male dogs do well around there own offspring, just give the female a break. There is no way you can tell the puppies are going to be all female. So my suggestion is spay and nueter your male and female, and then all your puppies cause dad and mom and brother and sister dont care who they breed, They will re-mate who ever and what ever goes into heat. Then your going to have a problem on your hands. Also keeping litter and offspring of your already established two dogs is not a good idea, I would talk to your parents carefully about this,(condisering your other questions make you seem very young in age) you are going to have a pack of dogs on your hands, you puppies will socialize and side with the parents and as they are growing up they can be a pain in the butt for training and socialization with humans. Its funny how you know they are all females nad they all are going to be brown, before they were to be born.... you must be psychic or very imaginative. Anyway here are some names.
Pudding
Chocolate
Taupe
Cinnamon
Spice
Pumpkin Pie
Sandy
Salty
Sugar
Taffy

I don't think you can say they will mostly be female and trust me the color can surprise you (as well as the coat type). I bred a tri-color female with a black and white male. The first time we got black and white, white, fawn, black, and tricolor all short hair mostly females (only one male). The second breeding we got fawn and white, tri-color, fawn, black, black and white about half of the group was female (bred from around the same time as the last group) and we got long hair as well (both parents are short hair). So you just don't know what you are going to get from chihuahuas.
As for her getting upset at the male, that's probably pretty normal. She's getting ready to have babies and is getting protective. Just make sure you are there to remove the male when she gets upset (and when you aren't home, seperate them). Hopefully your male will be as good a dad as mine was. I gave the female about 3 weeks before I introduced the male to the puppies and he loved them. He would sit in their box, licking their face and played with them as they got older. They would even stand over the puppies grumbling at one another because they wanted to be with them.

Ok, I am going to bite here.. How do you know your dog is going to have all females. I will be interested in how you figure this one out.
I will bite again on this one, as I am sitting here shaking my head....
If you study dogs for years then you would already know that certain period of the year has nothing to do with her having females. Here I thought I heard it all..Let me give you some info here alright..The male determines the sex, the female determines how many she has. So if you have all females it was because of the male and not what period it is..

Pregnant dogs will tend to get more protective and sensitive when around a male all the time. I would recommend walking them both together at least twice a day and make sure that any hints of aggresion are immediately taken care of (shishing or light tap with foot would do).
Names: Sparky, Skippy, Miguel, Ringo
Good luck!

How do you know they're likely to be females? *interested*
I suppose she is just hormonal at the moment and there's little you can do. He should get the message that he's not wanted around at the moment. If she's expecting soon, then I would keep him away from the nest and puppies to avoid stressing her.
Wow, you're going to have a pack of chihuahuas! :)

How many babies have you been forced to have. I got a bit pissy when I wanted to get pregnant after I realized what it was really all about. Spay them please its dangerous for a novice to get a chihuahua pregnant. I hope you have a vet on call. Most of the large dogs I rescue can do it on their own but smaller dogs often need assitance and bitty ones usually need a vet to make sure they don't get hurt during birth.

Maybe she would like a little peace and quiet in her present condition, so try keeping her separate from her mate for a while. As for names, how about Muchacha or Conchita as two possibilities?

My cat is pregnant and if she comes across any male cats she reacts in very much the same way as your dog. It's just their instincts to protect themselevs from harm.
My friend has a very small dog too, and she's called KiKi.... and i think that it's quite a sweet name

Good luck

You should spay your dogs. No ultrsound (and I doubt you've actually had an ultrsound) can detect a chihuahua penis in utero. This fact alone tells me you have no idea what your doing - which is scary if your breeding Chi's due to their proclivity of having birthing complications.
I doubt you've done the genetic lineage on this dog and her stud to be able to equate that they will all be "short haired" and "light brownish"
Glad your keeping them all because shelters across the county are full of unpapered chihuahua mixes (yeah - if you don't have papers you can't prove it's pure!) in need of a home. Please - Stop adding to the problem!

Keep your male away from the female, it is natural that she will attack him, particularly after the pups are born. She should have own bed & he should be be allowed nowhere near, she needs privacy.
