I have a 99 Dodge Avenger~transmission problems~will 92 Chrysler LeBaron 3L fit?

My car is starting to shift very hard (85,000miles). I can get a 92 LeBaron for $500 but not sure if transmission will fit!
Also looking for any advise of how to make it go faster! Have a racing chip, cold air intake, and exhaust any suggestions?

If it is automatic they are electronically controlled and the year difference would make it not compatible.

My avenger could enter change with Mitsubishi parts.
