From AVG's Website:
Open the directory with AVG Free Edition installed in and run the SETUP.EXE file or download the current installation file of AVG Free Edition from here and run it to start installation process. A window with following options will be displayed during the installation process:
Add/Remove Components - choose if you want to add/remove some AVG Free Edition component or reinstall the entire AVG Free Edition program.
Repair installation - this option repairs or reinstalls missing or damaged components of AVG Free Edition.
Uninstall - this option removes the AVG Free Edition program from your PC

Goto control panel, add remove programs. Remove.
Its always best to have a registry cleaner after you uninstall a program. There are several out there. Tune up utilities has one.
If you are going to uninstall your antivirus. I would look into a replacement and have that in hand, ready to install, when you uninstall AVG.

Go to my computer, click control panel there u will find Add & Remove click it.
Find you Avg Free edition software and click remove..
Thats it !!
