Get a crate. Crate train a lab.

Labs are typically very outgoing and friendly, but they have become so popular that they're over bred, resulting in poor-quality dogs. Take your time researching the breeders. Make sure the parents are OFA registered (this certifies that the parents do not have hip dysplasia-- a very painful condition that commonly occurs in larger breed dogs) and are free of other problems. You'll want to see the parents, too, and ask lots of questions to see how knowledgeable the breeders are. You might want to adopt a lab mix from the shelter. However, if you're set on a puppy, just check out some good training books, puppy classes at your vet's office, and verify that the breeder is a good one.

If you already have 2 adult Jack Russell's then a high energy dog is not going to be any news to you.

Labs are great family dogs, rambunctious and goofy as a pup but very loving.

As far as living with the others dogs, he or she will find his place in the pecking order, just make sure to supervise until they are very used to each other.

Labrador Retrievers are known as companion animals, and they are VERY social. Most of them are compatible with almost any other dog, especially if raised with other dogs from when they were a puppy. Make sure that your Jack Russells will be compatible before you buy, though.

The only big deal with Labs is that they have a very high energy. They have a high rate of obesity, because they need lots of exercise. So make sure that you can give them lots of exercise before you get one.

A Lab is a good dog. They adapt real well small dogs with time. They are very energetic and like to run and play. They are hunting dogs and love the outdoors. They need alot of play time, but are very loyal dogs.I have an 8 year old chocalote lab now ,she is a good hunting dog and yard-house dog.I have a small Dashound mix that is13 yers old and they sleep together and don't like to be apart.

They shed, check for OFA certifications on parents, do not buy if they don't have good or excellent ratings. The Jacks probably won't like him, he will be fine with them.

I had one,,,he was the best,,,he got along with my other 2 dogs and my cat after that even when she had her kittens...he was 106 lbs. and would tiptoe around the kittens so not to step on them...they love water, to retrieve things, (balls, frisbee, sticks), and affection....

god i'm sick of all this "adopting" crap... you are buying a dog! why is that such a terrible thing to say? i don't care if it's from a breeder or a shelter, you are buying a dog. you will pay money, and receive property in return. much like buying a hat.
regarding your stupid question, if it's a puppy why wouldn't it get along with your other dogs? it's a ******* puppy!
