Yep for a whole year. Although he has all kinds of excuses now, the evidence is overwhelming. But as usual, like the master himself, his supporters are in denial. P.S. some people got student deferments, particularly when they had earned valuable scholarships........ Clinton as well as my husband were 2 of many, that doesn't make them draft-dodgers.

I personally don't care. If he went AWOL will it change anything? We have better things to worry about. I don't care for the man but if he was AWOL it won't change anything.

We need to stop obsessing with the past. This also goes for all the Bill Clinton haters. Now, EVERYONE give me a neg flag so all of you can agree with something!

No, he did not go AWOL. At the time that President Bush was in the service the government was giving early outs to its servicemen based on points. The points were based on time of service and other things. President Bush had more than enough points to get an early out.

Next question.

Nope, any intelligent person knows a National Guardsman cannot go AWOL, unless his National Guard Unit is called to active duty.

AWOLs and UAs are the most common offenses in the military (Officer or Enlisted, Any branch and in any nation's armed forces) It doesn't matter if he is guilty or not, it was so long ago. it really doesn't matter.

I don't think you can convict a President of being AWOL. It seems that he has been gone for 6 years without anyone noticing. he was even re elected while he was gone.

No. I did some time in the National Guard and it was never a big deal if someone missed a drill. It certainly was not the UCMJ definition of AWOL since you have to be on active duty in order to be subject to the UCMJ.

permit me see, President won't manage to make any regulations, Congress makes the regulations, human beings ruin the regulations, and would desire to be in detention center for doing so, so because it particularly is sturdy that criminals are off the line, States do not grant well being care, or employers do not, it particularly is not the federal governments activity in a democracy to grant medical well being coverage maximum of your concepts is undesirable and untree Opium in Afghanstan, specific it particularly is pronounced as democracy, regrettably they have chosen to try this, freedom is undesirable while they elect crime while given a call. If we've been to tension it to end, we does not be permitting them to rule thierself.

it is not that he went AWOL, it was that he didn't bother to attend the reserve meetings and fulfill his obligations to the country and the nation. Since his daddy was rich and famous, George played by the rules of the rich and famous that meant he didn't have to do everything he had promised to do.

Just like now.

No, and that story had a hand in costing Kerry the election in 2004. CBS News couldn't verify the information, but released it anyway. Kerry in turn jumped on it, using it to attack Bush.
