It's probably the fluorescent lights. Have her wear lightly-tinted glasses next time - just enough tint to cut the glare.

It could also be from too much sensory stimulation. If that's the case she may need a mild anti-anxiety prescription from her doctor.

Lastly, it could be the smells. The candle shops always give me an instant headache.

If the headache throbs in the front part of her head ( like between the eyebrows and such) it could be an allergy.. malls have tons of perfumes and crap, she could be having a reaction.

If it is towards the middle/sides of her head, it could be the echo pressure... malls tend to echo a lot. ... some people (like me) are sensitive to the echo pressures... same as in the car, If there is only 1 window down... the echo pressure is painful...

Most likely it is the fluorescent lights which actually flash on and off extremely fast.

It could be a type of panic disorder. To many people, to much stuff to take in at once. Could be an overload!
