after all, dont liberals espouse a lifestyle based on equality where everyone has what everyone else has? and yet, john edwards lives in a 4.3 million dollar mansion, nancy pelosi has a vineyard in excess of 25 million, john kerry and ted kennedy live off the riches of family inheritance, harry reid makes a killing in illegal land deals in nevada, al gore reaps the rewards of financial independence from fossil fuel revenues AND green technologies...i could go on and on but i think you get the picture - at least those of you with a brain - so, are these people saying we should all be able to live like them, or that they should just be able to tell us how to live?...

Those of us "with a brain" are usually capable of putting a question in the correct category so what's your excuse??? Liberal and Conservative are ideologies that have no bearing on how much money a person has. Not all Conservatives are millionaires. I think that Liberals want to set the bar so that the opportunities to live comfortably are equal.
There are other kinds of riches too, not just financial. I am a Liberal and while I don't make a lot of money, I gove my time to numerous organizations. I tutor homeless children in Los Angeles. A hug from one of these children for something as simple as helping them with a math assignment is worth as much to me as a land deal might be to you. On my refrigerator hang a lot of crayon drawings that the children have given to me. I treasure them as you would a Picasso or a Monet. Basically, when I lie in bed at night I feel as rich as Donald Trump because I have the love of these children, the love of my wife, and my health!!!

I'm going to take a wild guess that you're not majoring in political science. I've never heard the notion that liberals believe in the distribution of wealth. (Of course it could ne that liberals in your part of the country are totally different from what they are in the rest of the world - but I doubt it.)

Actually, outside of some naive notions some people have about the tenets of socialism, that kind of "everyone has what everyone else has" is only heard in an isolated commune or two.

It's a sad comment on our educational system that we can't even distinguish very simple political categories.

The answer under 'Religion' would be --- Do they tithe 10% or more to their church? Do they give 'offerings' to their church and/or other charities?

The mega rich are not required to donate the money to the Government for them to spend. They are just trying to make sure that people that are less fortunate are taken care of. You need a little more research on the individuals listed. You probably will find that all of them donate more money to charities than the average income of an American.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was a rich liberal, so the phrase is not an oxymoron. Money is not inherently good or bad, it's a tool. What's good or bad about it is :

1.) How you got it.
2.) What you do with it once you've got it.

So don't begrudge the "rich liberals" their material wealth. Instead, keep reminding them of what I have just told you.

How can there be a rich Christian? Jesus wasn't rich, he spread the word on foot or on the back of a donkey. He didn't advocate riches and he despised those who aspired to them. I hope you're busy trying to squeeze that camel through the eye of a needle right now if this doesn't apply to you.

Jesus was a TOTAL liberal.

And I'm not rich.

1.) You are confusing "liberalism" with "socialism."
2.) Some people are hypocritical jerks, even though they claim to have the same political leanings as some very nice people do. People who tell others "live green" but then waste energy? Hypocrites, but that doesn't make "live green" a bad sentiment, or a less necessary one.

It's apparent that a lot liberals are hypocrites and control freaks. You've left out some of the Hollywood liberals like Michael Moore who owns shares of Haliburton, flies in private planes and has a convoy of SUVs for his armed bodyguards. Yeah, he really hates capitalism and firearms and cares about the environment.

May God Bless you.

Ah yes, the old do as I say, not as I do, trick. Those liberals are all the same, ain't they. Like, Billary, talking about candles and light bulbs, like she would ever use a fluorescent light bulb to even do her hair !!! Course, Bill, now he likes them cause they ain't as bright and therefore harder for her to see what he's doin' under there. And ALBORE got his statue which fits right in, a statue for a statue. Burns only bio-fuel, but got his money in Citgo.

Its only ok if the money was illgotten. Like Ted Kennedy, his money came from his boot-legging father. They were among the largest dealers of illegal booze in the country.
