I would split up with someone if they really disliked my dog to the point where they didn't want to be at my place or treated it badly. The way people are around animals shows a lot about how they might be with other people or children.

Well, just dating someone that doesn't like your pet is one thing. If it would get to the point of something more serious, then there's a problem. I have a son that loves his Great Dane and if his fiancee did not like it, I think they would not be engaged. You have to marry someone with the same likes as far as pets go. You would come to resent them if they weren't good to your pets. Why? Because people that love animals form a bond with their pets.

No...my friend only called my pet names but never anything physical....the only real reason i would split is if they killed my pet, then we are going to have some serious problems

Nope. Love the pet, but if the person means something to you, they can hate the pet all they want as long as they love you.

What type of pert is it? If you are really attached to your pet and he does not like it, you cannot make someone like your pet if they do not so you will need to break up.
