I believe that we all need to remember to not call each other names and not to let non-believers get under your skin. We are called for a higher purpose and to Love One Another. That means loving someone despite our differences and faiths. I just have been watching and answering these boards for a while and wanted everyone to just think about why we believe what we believe and what Jesus would do if he were on these boards.

The same could go out to all the atheists that attempt to provoke some that may not be strong enough to take it. They do get awfully personal an vicious in the attacks & fake questions that are real insults to basic decency. Many posts have been put up by Christians appoligizing to them (similar to this one) & they even ridicule them. To be unbelievers, they sure hang around the religion postings quite regularly.

"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of this world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without cause.'" - (John 15:18-25) Keep pressing despite the trials. Love your neighbors as yourself. God says vengeance is His. Let him take care of the mess, we just need to put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). God bless you in Jesus' name.

Thanks for reminding. I really don't think Jesus would waste His time on these boards because there are too many souls that need saving. He'd be out working in the cities and towns.

I'm a Christian. Non-Christians don't get under my skin. There's no need to call them names, either. It is ultimately their right and choice to believe (or not believe) whatever they like. It's their choice, and their business.

Nice sentiments, although I have to say that I doubt Jesus would be wasting time on message boards. So if one were to do as jesus would do, they wouldn't be chatting on yahoo answers......I think he'd have more important things to do......

Amen to that. I try to answer these questions with respect and dignity, as well as other atheists, but a few bad apple do spoil the bunch I guess, I try not to let it bother me anymore

Although I'm not a Christian, I agree with your sentiment here.

Except that I love people because of their differences. Not despite them.

Thanks and it is wonderful to see something positive for a change.
We are all different and I love this board as it has such real diversity in thinking and I am sure it is global. Just common courtesy helps.

If someone calls you a bible thumping fundie, or narrow minded fundie--or whatever they choose to call you, just say "Thank You!"
because to me, that is a compliment!
