Please do not misunderstand, Pure breed dogs are cool too.
I owned a Poodle a few years ago, when she went into heat she dug a hole in my yard while i was at work and got pregnant, a few weeks later we had little mutts of all colors!! So we gave a few away but i decided to keep one little female. Today i no longer have her mother but i'm so glad to have kept one from the litter she is the sweetest dog i have EVER owned, she never gets sick, is extremely smart and hugs you like a real person would hug! Her name is Lacy, and she has the most charming personallity. I love her to death... Who else absolutly LOVES their little mutts? Please tell me the things you love about him/her and what type of mix you have. Just for fun.

I do-I do.I adopted a JRT/chi.mix and he's a delight to have around. He plays with everything and loves my grandchildren. They chase him and he chases them.He fetches, sits and goes to his crate easily. He is very protective of me and I always know when someone is outside my door.I'm training him to be sociable so we can go to the park soon.He drags the leash around, the vet said he was too young to leash now (5 months)But he is a quick learner.I owned a chihuahua for 15 years before him wow a huge difference. But a good one. He's called COCO.

I know exactally where you are coming from I used to raise pure bred Great Danes and they were always getting sick with something, had three to get cancer. I swore i would never get another dog but one day went to the pet shelter and got a pure mutti mean just look at her in different ways and she looks like a different kind of dog. She is so sweet and has the best personality has no royalty complex like some of the pure breeds and everyone loves her. So i agree with you MY JOJO is a pur breed MUTT and we love her. Better than any pedigree and hey I also saved one dog from being put to sleep she was on her last day at the shelter.

I don't have any mutts anymore...but I had one for 17 years, and he too...was one of the best, smartest, most loveable dogs I've ever had. I've heard that mutts are often smarter than pure breed dogs because the likelyhood of their being inbread is rare.....I do have a full blooded beagle, he is 10 years old, and is a very sweet, smart dog...and we just adopted a 5 month old full blooded pug from some people who's daughter was allergic to her....she's turning out to be pretty great too!

I love my two mutts more than anything in the world! One is a pittbull mix and one is a chihuahua mix. They are the best friends in the world. I work at an animal shelter and I find the mixed breed dogs to have the biggest personality and the least health problems (just in my own experience anyways). My future dogs will all be mixed breeds from shelters. I think they have the biggest hearts. :)

I too had a pure bred Basset Hound, dumbest, stubborn dog ever. We have always been more apt to have a Heinz 57, than a pure bred and have had several smart ones. We adopted a beautiful golden color mutt from our local animal shelter about four years ago. She is medium to large size, part Lab, part retriever, part beagle ,with maybe a little Greyhound (especially when she runs close to the ground).
She is one of the smartest dogs we owned. She was always quick to learn anything from bathroom training ( a month) to tricks, show her four times and she gets it. She knows when it's walk time(tries to get in the collar) and she knows when it's bath time (hides). She loves being with us and is sad when we leave her behind. She will hang around anyone who is home sick and won't leave their side. She truly is one of a kind, a guard dog she is not but we love her just the same.

I love my mutt Angel. She's a Labrador-grey hound mix, and she's lived with us for about nine years now... she's super-smart, very loyal, and the best girl we could ask for! She was adopted from the APL, the day after her former owners were convicted of animal cruelty. She had a big sore on her throat from where a choke collar had rubbed her raw, and was almost twenty pounds underweight. She had never lived in a house before. The first night we had her, she jumped on the counter and tried shaking a bag of bread to death for food! But she's very good and obedient now... no problems!! We love her sooo much.

Yeah for mutts! Got two! One is a Jack Russell and Sheltie mix and the other is a Heinz 57 variety. Found the second one at the shelter and they labeled her a 'sheltie' but you can see Spaniel in her as well as Aussie. I love them both dearly and couldn't imagine life without them. Good question!

I LOVE MY BABY PUPPY!
she's not really a puppy (3 1/2 years old) but she is the best!
She's a German Shepard Husky and is like my daughter (but a little hairier) To me mutts from the shelter are the best!

I love my little dog, Karly!! She is a beagle, heeler, terrier mix, and she loves to give kisses! She has such a heart, but she can be stubborn! Right now she is adjusting to a new puppy member who is an american bulldog. She is no longer the baby in the family, so she is quite jelous!

I absolutely LOVE my Jack Russell/Rat Terrier. His name is Whoa-D. He's the light of my life, and I could talk about him all day long. He gives hugs too like an actual human. He gives me more love than my hubby does. LOL. I love how he craves my attention. I'll be getting ready for work in the morning and he'll come and jump up on the toilet, stand on his hind legs w/ his front legs leaning on the counter and just whine for me. I'll pick him up, he'll give me a hug, and he's fine.
