can a grad - new immigrant student qualify hope edu credit if he has never taken undergrad in US?

I am a first year grad student filing 2006 return. I have never taken undergrad course in US and claimed edu credit in previous tax returns. Am i eligible for hope credit max 1650 (not life time credit) in my 2006 return.

No, the Hope credit isn't available for grad school, even if you haven't taken it before or taken any post-secondary courses in the US. You would probably be able to take the Lifetime Learning credit, though.
