Okay, first of all, if you are having a trend in these abnormally high fevers, you need to be under regular care of a physician. With that said, a high fever like you describe CAN be very dangerous. It can cause what is known as a "febrile seizure" - which is a seizure associated with elevated body temperature. This are most common in children.

As you said, you felt "normal" when you were running these high fevers, this may indicate that there is some problem with your body's "internal themometer."

Again, you need to see a physician to determine what is going on. Emergency room physicians are trained to give emergency care and life saving interventions - not so much on the long term care. Find a general'family practioner and explain what is going on - you may need to be referred to a nuerologist to find out exactly what is going on and how to treat this problem.

Best of luck!

Fever phobia is rampant in America. The source of the fever may be important, but the fever itself is not dangerous. There are rare neurologic disturbances when temperatures get to 110, but 104 or 105 won't cause any permanent problem. This myth seems to be a residual of times before germ theory, and many fevers diagnosed in centuries past were not just a non-specific fever but in actuality a serious bacterial infection such as meningitis or malarial encephalitis.
