I LOVE THAI TOO

Rice is okay everyday. Look at all the asian countries, they live on rice everyday & dont get fat. Have you noticed that alot of asians live long?
Their very active & eat several small portions of food everyday and drink green tea with their meals to help digestion.

So with keeping that in mind, sure, rice is great.

Heres some recipes we use at home. The websites are great & easy to use.

Here's an easy recipe to start with:
In a big bowl, make a marinade (ie just stir all this in together)...from a little oil, crushed garlic, chopped coriander, juice of half a lime, some grated ginger, and dried thai spices (available from a supermarket). Chop/slice up two boned and skinless chicken breasts and stir them into the marinade. Now get a big sealable plastic bag (like a sandwich bag) and put everything in that and put it in the fridge for a few hours.

To cook....just stir fry the above (minus the plastic bag!), with some baby corn cobs, chopped spring onions, sliced mushrooms, diced peppers if you like.....but here's the clinch.....just before you take it off the heat, add a little carton of coconut cream (again available from supermarkets) and a little fresh chopped coriander...stir this through and serve.

If you try this a few times, you'll find the marinade really tenderises the meat so it's nice and soft and moist AND you can adapt the marinade, ie add other ingredients that you do like and leave out those that you don't.......eg, peanut butter can be added to make it thicker etc....

I happen to think the marinade maketh the meal so you can do the same for chinese, indian, italian etc.....whatever spices you like! Oh and if the marinade looks too dry, you can either add a little light soy sauce and/or water. The idea is to coat all the meat in it and maybe have a little "gravy" or "juice" left over to add to the stir fry.

Good luck with it....it might also be worth you having a look here or any other foodie website...http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbfood/f2670471

Well you don't need to knock people who can't afford M&S. Perhaps they'll find it "cheeper"?

I can afford to shop there but wouldn't DREAM of buying anything "ethnic" there, it doesn't do the job.

If you can't find a Thai supplier, go to your local Chinese grocer. A lot of their stuff is Thai. Whatever you do, don't get anything from the big supermarkets, or M&S!! As to rice every day, yes it's very healthy to do that. Brown rice is even better.

Her voice does computer virus me besides the undeniable fact that the classified ads presented a good headline in my interior sight rag earlier than Christmas. In our M&S between the employees had taken images of raw sewage in an unused carry shaft that the administration became taking its time over finding out. The headline: 'that is not only raw sewage...that is M&S raw sewage.' Makes me chortle each and anytime i imagine of a complicated chook with a plum in her mouth affirming that!
