Oh honey, you remind me of myself at 18 years old.....I have notoriously thick, dry hair that has never faired well in the humid climates of Louisiana(where I currently live.)
If you have dyed your hair much at all, it probably just made the whole thing even more susceptible to frizz. It always feels great for a few days after you dye it though!
First thing to suggest to you would be to cut some of it off. I don't know what you look like, but even if you are a little chubby or with a rounder face--thick hair does great with funky, cool layers about shoulder length.
Second. SuperSkinny serum by Paul Mitchell. Oh man. The first time a hairdresser used this on my hair, and really took time to straighten it with one of those cool irons? I had normal hair for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!!!
If you want to email me about what else you can do, just shoot me an email. I'd seriously love to help if I can...my heart goes out to women with hair troubles like yours, for real!
I actually cut my own hair now. I'm sort of an art nerd, so I can get away with the funky, messy look and nobody says any different. I actually have it sort of short right now and I'm really digging it, it's a lot easier to manage.
So, get yourself to a GOOD salon. Somebody that has dealt with this type of hair before, preferablely. You can even call a nearby beauty school to see if they are looking for a prime subject to study/help/beautify. Get yourself one of those great straightening irons. And that SuperSkinny Serum stuff is pretty awesome too.

I'd suggest to go to a really good stylist and ask them about this. There may be some type of toner (stuff they use after color treatments and perms) or something to use. Or maybe it will help to have that stylist cut it properly so it lays correctly around your face and shoulder area. I have had exactly the opposite problem, I had long straight (and I mean as an arrow) blunt bangs across the front and could not lift one hair an iota off my head, when I pulled it back I looked bald! Best to ask the professionals on these tough questions. I spent a lot of money but it was worth a lifetime of good hair.

The first rule of healthy hair (as far as product goes) is...do not EVER use Pantene on your hair. Pantene coats the hair with a wax that makes it look shiny the first time you use it, but over time it build up on the hair shaft. This build up, doesn't allow the hair to receive much need nutrients and moisture so it turns dry, brittle and breaks off easily. Aside from that, healthy hair needs a balanced diet high in proteins and fatty oils (you might want to try Omega 3 pills), frequent haircuts, a thermal protectant product before applying heat to your hair, lots of sleep and avoidance of chemicals (straightening, perming, etc). Just remember your hair didn't get in this condition overnight, and it's going to take some time to get it back in condition. Your focus isn't on fixing the already damaged hair (that is impossible, it's already damaged), your focus has to be on making the hair that is growing in...as healthy as it can be. Eventually, the bad hair will get cut out.

Im a guy so i forgot what its called but its a permanent straightening system that works for about a month and a half i think (my sister got it done) the worst it does to your hair is dry it out a little but you can fix that with a good conditioner. Also, use anti-frizz serium. that stuff works great and makes it shiny too! hope i helped. good luck.

Maybe you need to get it cut into long layers, and don't try straightening it, just get a really good gel for frizzy hair and let your hair air dry, it will probably never look like a girls hair in the commercial because the commercials are fake!

Well first of all you should get two different kinds of shampoos and conditionors.. i wuld recomend thermasilk for thick hair and thermasilk for frizzy hair.. then switch between the two conditioners and shampoos everyday.. then wen u get out.. use loreal studio line hot straight heat activated straightening cream all over ur hair and blow dry it with the blow dryer pointing towards the ground as u blow dry ur hair... after that use a hair spray..for long lasting hold... and spray it on ur brush... then straighten ur hair with an Andis hair straightener.. then spray ur hair with the hair spray n brush it out again.

Have you tried Motions? It's for african american hair but it works for me. Tamed me down a lot. I also use a hot iron to help straighten whatever is left. It holds really well too.

Try getting a hair cut and having the beautician thin out your hair a little with layers. If you don't want to cut your hair try using a hair serum or putty to make your hair appear shinier and sleek.

They have products for frizz.
Also a really good flat iron that keeps my hair
straight is called the CHI.
It's pretty expensive, but it rocks!

Are they comfortable hairs? maximum folk (inclusive of girls persons) have tiny easy hairs on our decrease back. that is common. i might go away them on my own i ask your self whether your lady pal reported "i in user-friendly terms like adult males who leap from bridges to their death" in case you will do this?
