Catholics are sent out to do God's work at the very end of the Mass.

The last part is the Concluding Rite.

I believe you are referring to "The Dismissal", which is after the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This is the final prayer at the end of mass. It includes the words, "go in peace and love and serve the Lord, and one another."

After the Liturgy of the Eucharist, the priest will say "The mass is ended, go in peace to love and serve the Lord."

It is part of the Concluding Rites:

The Mass is ended. Go now in peace to love and serve the Lord.

The text of the mass can be found at http://www.latinliturgy.com/nomass.html

You are looking for something that was lost because of a misconception. The catholic church created a list of "sacraments," or things which THEY SAY make the believer 'holy' which DIFFERS FROM the teaching of SCRIPTURE. Christians are made holy by their being "IN CHRIST." Ephesians 1:4 "God chose us to belong to Christ before the world was created. He chose us to be HOLY and without blame in his eyes. He loved us."

Holiness DOES NOT COME from "sacraments." The entire system is off base. They may have began as true worshipers, but they left that CENTURIES AGO. The Catholic system looks at "mass" as "doing God's work." Paul writes in Romans 12:1 "Brothers and sisters, God has shown you his mercy. So I am asking you to offer up your bodies to him while you are still alive. Your bodies are a holy sacrifice that is pleasing to God. When you offer your bodies to God, you are worshiping him. 2 Don’t live any longer the way this world lives. Let your way of thinking be completely changed. Then you will be able to test what God wants for you. And you will agree that what he wants is right. His plan is good and pleasing and perfect."

THAT is "DOING GOD'S WORK."
