I know that there is a reason and a purpose for everything … but some days it just doesn’t make any sense.

Do you have those days were the existence of God just seems so unreal?

Every day there are children and people all over the planet being raped, starved, beaten, tortured, and molested.

Every day the existence of god seems unreal.

To me.

What reason do you have for thinking that everything has reason or purpose behind it. Sometimes chance has a hand to play.
I think we live in a Chaotic world and the appearance of order is just our minds being selective and seeking patterns. Some, not all, of those patterns are real.
As for the existance of God seeming unreal, did I mention that I am an atheist.

Edit: See what I mean, I just got a thumbs down for giving a serious honest answer. Tell me reason is functioning out there!

The word god, according to Plato, used to mean a body that moved across the sky. and the ancient word for sky was heaven.
heaven and earth. So the GODS lived in the heaven.
Christians came and totally confused everything.

There was in ancient time, considered to be one Holy Lord. Him to the Uppermost limit, where no other was equal. He has form in everything because he created everything. He is thinking intelligence, he created the GODS ie; the sun, moon starts and planets. from which we came.
with out the sun, we would die. and the ancients would worship the sun because of this.
Ancient Egypt even became afraid that if they stopped worshipping thier many Gods, that they may become poor, and Egypt would crumble. Well they stopped worshipping, and are now a third world country.

Think of this and it will all make sense every day and the existence of the Gods will fill your every being.

I think sometimes the concept of God gets all muddled up. There are so many different ideas about who/what He is, that it's all a little confusing. We feel bad if we're not sure about God, because it's seen as "right" to believe and follow him. You know, you can still have morals without him- you can still believe in good. Love can be found elsewhere- it doesn't just come from God. Don't worry if you can't find him, stop looking- it could make you feel unhappy!
Just enjoy the things you are sure of, and maybe one day you will find He was there all along. And what does it matter if he's not.

Thats completely normal; sometimes a day hits us like bricks. God never leaves, so when you have a day where you feel like he's not there, its only you moving away from him because of the heaviness of life, etc.
Give yourself a break, rest, call off work and let the damn world fend for itself for a little while so that you can strenghen yourself and are able to get back on the horse.
One day long ago, Christ was spit on, ridiculed, tortured, then nailed to a cross - trust me, He knows what its like to have a bad day!

Well, I'm an atheist, so I have lots of those days, obviously. Not every day, as many would like to believe, though. Many days it just simply doesn't cross my mind. I don't understand the need some people have to belong to some "higher purpose". I'm perfectly fine with just being a human, taking in what pleasures life has to offer. I just don't see why people have to believe that their lives hold some great, unknowable meaning. It seems like arrogance to me.

Sorta, but.......

I am a realist and except realities:
up-down
left-right
light-dark
women-man
fat-skinny
life-death
educated-ignorant
etc.....

My point, "Everything Has an Opposite" with very few absolutes. To experience a bad day or moment helps us appreciate good ones. Every moment in life should "not" be good. If you take away for instance, hate, then love no longer means anything. I believe we are tested for a reason. My test will likely be different then your even if our experience is the same.

Don't loose faith because of one bad day.

Lol
This is kinda funny.
What you believe in and give faith to will destroy you in the end.
Hey it maybe God, but taxes could easily equal god
Example
In God we trust, In taxes we trust, In love we trust, In hate we trust
POSSIBLITIES ARE ENDLESS!!!
You can't feed a man who isnt hungry.
