Hi!

What a great idea!

If you get a travel cot, it will have everything you need for baby apart from the bedding, and I'm sure your daughter could provide that if you don't have any.

Travel cots are great, coz they fold up really compactly and hardly take up any storage room!

I bet you can't wait for them to come, can you??!!

I will assume that a travel cot is the same as a pack and play travel crib (I had one of these with all three kids). If so, they come with everything you need. Mine even had a sheet to fit the mattress. They are very handy for company. Have fun with your grand baby!!!

I spent alot of money a few years ago on a graco travel cot but found that what they call the mattress/ base was ok but quite hard and had to put something down to make it more comfy......I suggest you go to the shop and road test it, get them to open one and see whether you think they are ok for baby to sleep on...I think they are too hard but then I'm one for comfort.

i have a travel cot for my baby when we go away anywhere you don't need a seperate mattress no but i find a blanket on the bottom just adds that touch of extra padding.

Not usually, They come with a flod up soft base. I have a Graco one I got very cheap in a sale and use it for visitors with babies and when we go away. They're so easy to put up. It takes about 1 minute to set up and put the bedding on it! They are definately worth the money, and very compact when folded away. Good luck! x

it should be fine! its bad for babis back to be sleeping on really soft mattresses! its fine if it comes with the cot, its been tested and proven safe and comfy enough for your baby! dont worry he/she will be comfy!!! mum to 3 yr old, 2 yr old & 14 week old

usually not hun, the one that i purchased from mothercare a few years had a soft base, my son had no problem getting to sllep in it, i just had to put it up and cover him with a blanket, in the winter months i found it better to pu a blanket underneath as well for added warmth
