I watched the "Tomb of Jesus" documentary on the Discovery channel and really don't understand what Jesus was doing all his years.

When I was done watching the program it was apparent Jesus had roughly 4 kids and one with Mary Margolis (which was supposed to be his mother). I guess that proves Jesus & Mary Margolis were the first humans, thus, kicking Adam & Eve out of that role.

I also noticed Jesus took the captains' wheel on Noah's Ark as well so I wonder what that Noah guy's role really was - perhaps 1st mate?

Most importantly he cured the leopards by removing their spots.

It is truly amazing they can determine all this from DNA.

Apparently you took very careful notes. Because you got everything they claimed almost perfect. Only you laid it out more logically then Cameron did....

I am begging you, please do not accept everything you see on tv as truth! Jesus was never married. Jesus did not have a sexual relationship outside of marriage because that would be sin and he is sinless. Therefore he never had any children.

• Though Jewish men of Jesus’ day were usually married, there were many exceptions. For example:
– The Essenes of the Dead Sea community at Qumran remained single.
– The apostle Paul was single (1 Corinthians 7:7).
– In both Judaism and Christianity, singleness and celibacy were esteemed as a means to complete devotion to the Lord (1 Corinthians 7:32 – 33).
– While most rabbis were married, Jesus more closely fulfilled the role of a prophet. Prophets often remained single to be wholly devoted to the Lord.
– John the Baptist, the prophet and forerunner of the Messiah, was unmarried.
• All of the evidence indicates Jesus was single.
– From the cross, Jesus commends his mother to John’s care, but does not mention a wife.
– There is no hint of any sexual or marital relationship between Jesus and the women who supported him.
• There is not a shred of early or reliable historical evidence that Jesus was married.

Nice one! You really grasped the essential value of the documentary!
PS later:Thanks 7 Seas but it was a bit long! Good people, that wasn't proselytising but the one bit in the Koran capable of reconciling Christians and Muslims. Muriam (Hebrew, Miriam) is Arabic for Mary, Isa for Jesus. Basically in this passage God (Allah) creates Jesus in Mary's womb so he can become the Messiah of Israel. Bit of a shock for some of you; I imagine, but Mary does have this key role in Islam, too. Why start a crusade when this character is saying "Salaam, peace!"
Re the Shroud being disproved as a fake: basically the people who declared it so in sensational headlines, never produced the real evidence afterwards in the scientific journals that could convince their scientific colleagues. When challenged, they refused to submit their evidence to checking by their peers. But some anonymous group in New York gave a few million dollars on the first Good Friday afterwards to the man who orchestrated the sensation. As a result their conclusions have lost all weight in scientific circles. The Shroud was later rechecked in another chemical test (not Carbon 14), one commonly used to determine the age of linen, and it was found to be at least 1000 years older than the Carbon 14 dating, the linen being produced some time between 1000BC and 400AD, the possible band for really old cloths being a lot wider than for new ones. It appears that linen loses a certain chemical at a particular rate. So a 1st century date for the Shroud is now considered possible. The latest program shown on it in Europe revealed that the image research laboratory in Paris under Professor Marion had discovered the traces of a written inscription so faded that only machines could detect it. It was in Greek, and said "Jesus of Nazareth, he passed through death". Specialists in Greek writing are agreed that it is in the style of the first century writing schools. So perhaps the Shroud had a key role in converting the disciples to the idea of a resurrection.
In fact, just read the account in John's Gospel of Peter and the "other disciple" (i.e. John) going into the empty tomb and looking at the Shroud. The Shroud has the key role : and John writes of himself : "And he looked, and he believed". In the previous sentence he talks of finding the graveclothes, so that is what he was looking at.

Be careful dear, or you will be accused of being unscientific. Everyone knows that if you see it on TV it must be true.

Actually, the female name was Miriamne; NOT Mary Magdalene (or Margolis). Miriamne was the name of Herod's favorite wife. Maybe that is why Herod hated Jesus so much. I guess Mr. Cameron will address that in his sequel, "The Termination of the Titanic Jesus Bone Box".

"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty"
1 Corinthians 1:27

I didnt watch it because as a believer I know that its all a fake. Not only that but many archeologists have stated that back in the days of Jesus it was a very popular name. DNA hmmm how did they get that spit off the Holy Grail? Jesus left nothing for us to worship. He has left no bones as he ascended to Heaven before His disciples eyes. If you believe in Jesus or not this was all a big hoax so James Cameron could get his name mentioned again since he hasnt had anything big since the Titanic. Imagine this tomb was discovered in 1980 now 27 years later they decide its Jesus of Nazareth. Give me a break. Peace out....

Yes, the DNA determinations are amazing. I think my question is whether of not they tried matching the DNA samples from the ossuaries with what may have been found years ago on the Shroud of Turin. That would most certainly prove that at one time, a man died and was buried somewhere near Jerusalem.

[OH MAN. Am I bad! I forgot that the Shroud of Turin was exposed as a fraud a few years ago. Wonder what wild claims will come from this?]

That documentary is a load of CRAP!!! That's the exact type of stuff the devil wants you to begin to believe just like the Da Vinci code...it's all satan's scandal to deter people. They do not have Christ's DNA because his body didn't stay in the ground nor did it ever suffer decay. HE'S ALIVE!!! And they were speaking of Lepors...people who suffer from Leprosy...a skin disease.

It starts in Genesis 1:1 and ends in Revelations 22:21 You might want to invest some time in it. May the Lord of Lords Jesus Christ save your soul and renew your mind!

Ok, no he was not married. And he did not have any kids. Read the bible and you can see that all that isn't true. He did cure the lepers though. Mary Magdoline was not married to Jesus. Jesus was single and lived a holy life. He also was never with a woman intimately.

Hey Man, This is not the answer for this question, indeed for one your previous questions. regararding the feeling when you come out of church and drugs induced state. This question was in my mind long time ago. Me myself, grown up in protestant charismatiscm, have undergone through religious holyspirit , speaking tounges and later on tried cannabis, got the same experience, spoke in tounges after smoking it. The feeling was same, an uncontrollable power in you. It depends on how your channellise it. some people do bad things after smoking cannabis.some people write or produce music. for me I just experienced the same religious feeling. So take it from me,
the holy gost, speaking in tounges, Cannabis induced state and Sexual orgasm are all the same feeling , if you see it from other angle.
