I want 2 tattoos. One on each of the back of my arms. Right above my elbow. But not wrapping around my arm.

I want something religious(not crosses) with something written in latin on each arm.

Something you have seen in a church in stained glass windows maybe?

Thank you for your help so far! I have been looking for the right tattoo idea for about 10 years now and hope I am close. I will not get one until it is perfect.

Background so some people don't make fools of themselves!

About ten years ago I was hit head on by a drunk driver. I lost both my legs and a piece of my face. I don't get out much and when I do the last thing I want is to stand out but I realize that is difficult. It really does take a lot to keep a good attitude towards life. My faith has pulled me through. And if I can better people with a story from a tattoo then thats what I will do.

For the Latin text:

On one side: "Domine Deus". On the other: "Rex coelestis" (Lord God/Heavenly King).

Or maybe on one side: "Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi". On the other side: "miserere nobis". (Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world/Have mercy on us).

If you're open to Greek, try the classic "Kýrie, eléison. Christe, eléison. (Lord have mercy/Christ have mercy).

Or "In nomine Patris et Filli" "et Spiritus Sancti" (In the name of the Father, and of the Son/and of the Holy Ghost).

Just a thought.

Why not Greek instead of Latin? Or perhaps Hebrew? My suggestions would be:

1) "Maranatha" (Oh Lord, come!). It's a greeting used by early Christians.

2) Sunestauromai (literally "co-crucified"). It's the word used at Galatians 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ ..."

3) What about Jesus' REAL name, Yeshua? (It means Salvation.) Go here to see His name in Hebrew letters (you could print it and take it to the tattoo artist): http://www.godsclay.com/yeshua.htm

A tat is something very personal and something you have to live with the rest of your life. Take your time to find just the right one that says something about you or has some meaning to you. It really don't matter what anyone else thinks , it must be something you are happy with. There are lots of pictures and ideas on the net.

You have a degree of control over your health and appearance through diet and exercise. People with religion tattoos seems to indicate they are more into the vanity of what they believe than in taking care of themselves or teaching others to better themselves.

I think that the fish symbol written out in greek would look nice. It's spell kind of like IXTHYS and stands for Jesus christ, Son of God, Savior. The abreviation spells fish in greek and thats where we get the symbol. Google religious symbols and click on the one that has altreligion in it's name. they have a ton of symbols of every religion.

How about the phrase:

"I am just another sheepish and unoriginal guy with a tatoo"

on one arm and on the other:

"I think tatoos make me stand out from the crowd, although many others think the same"

You could do pentagrams or Celtic crosses. I don't know much Latin though.......
