Piss off. Atheism is my choice. I chose to be an Atheist. I chose not to believe in fairy tale's.

I'm sure you can't make someone believe in God.
But I love having debates with Atheists! I think religion/spirituality should be a very private thing, but it's good if people can be open minded and accepting, because that way you can learn. Lots of people have been converted just by learning more about a religion- and realising God is more than a man with a white beard, in a book called the Bible.
(Or any other devine scripture)
We all have reasons for what we believe, whether they're subconcious or not!
I'd be interested to know why you want to know, or if you were just opening debate.

How about showing some respect for what they believe? Would you want an Athiest or Pagan or Buddhist to try to convert YOU? Are you better than all of them? Have the secrets of the universe been revealed to you somehow? Does your holy book have something that makes it unquestionably more important than the others that say that they're right and you're wrong? Guess what: all the major religions think they are right and yours is wrong! You don't know better than everyone else, so don't go pushing your beliefs on others: It is PROFOUNDLY disrespectful.
Do unto others.

I think it would be nearly impossible to convert an atheist. I currently do not claim a religion and I am questioning many things. But I guarantee you that no one person can convince me to believe in something that I view as basically a fairytale. Sometimes I wish I could believe, but I would be lying to myself.

You're not gonna do it by convincing them to become a Christian. Christianity past is too shady and they Athiest know and except the dark side of Christianity while Christians are still in denial and make excuses for the past.
Anyway, why would you want to convert someone anyway. Isn't that more God for you to worship?
Consentrate on your own fellowship with God and less on someone else's.
Constantine would be proud of you.

you know wht's funny? a lot of people, i think almost every person in this section are just trying to convert the other into their respective religions, when they themselves dont follow it properly(no offence meant)...sure, alot of these people have encyclopedic knowledge abt their religions, but do they actually practise what they preach? i doubt it!
Abt converting atheists into believers...well, it wud be just as hard as converting a strong believer into an atheist.i'd advise u to respect their erm.. beliefs.its not upto us to punish or bless them.you cud try telling thm abt ur religion, but if they don't want to, leave them alone and treat them with respect as an equal..and judge them according to their personality rather than their faith.

You'd have to cut out the front half of my brain and beat the bottoms of my feet with gory rectal meat pulled from a dead monkey.
Alternatively, you'd have to present a well-reasoned and conclusive case in actual material terms rather than half-conceived aphorisms and loose conclusions.

Don't religious people have a rule book on how to convert people. Christians historically done it, peaceful or not. Which religion(God) are you talking about?

You don't. The Atheist helps to convert the weak-willed god-botherer into a 'normal' person who can stand on their own two feet without the assistance of an imaginary friend...

Having done this for a while I have found that some people are ready and some are not. There is little you can do to force someone to believe or to even to persuade someone to start hoping if they have the wrong attitude. There are times in most peoples lives where they are more able to develop faith than at other times. Of course Internet discussion groups are more likely to turn people off of religion that to make them think more about it.
