Im engaged with my man which both of us have longdistance relationship. I love this guy alot. we are getting marry pretty soon (beginning next year) and everything is going so well.. I think till yesterday. What happened os that yesterday i was pickin my cousin [who arrived from the USA with her husband] at the airport. on the way, i was in the truck with my aunt and uncle when my fiance called me and he said to me " I love you" and i didn't said it back. he said " i didnt hear you say nothing"... and i was meetin up my cousin at the terminal and after that was when i said "i love you" .Ok.... when i was @ the way home, my cousin's hubby asked me if i had a bf & i stayed quite and then my aunt answered for me. When we got home, i called my bf and i told him that i didnt answer when he asked and he asked me why and i said " bc i was ashamed they would joke me around" and he got sad bc of this. he even asked me if i wasnt proud of us; i said of course
what should i do?

And i felt ashamed is bc im too reserved and as soon as i am so young and we are getting marry so young... there's always ppl opinion around which doesn't make me feel comfortable. He was comparing that when someone ask about us, he always saying that im soo beautiful, nice person, etc.
And also, someday ago, he was with his friends and he did the same to me; like he didnt say i love you when he was with his friends...
he said hes sad. Im sad too he made me that once too.... what should i do?
I called him this morning and i asked him for sorry began that way yesterday and he said that won't gonna stop the love and care he feels about me.

If you're engaged, your frame of mind should be: ready to announce it to the world- happy, excited, looking forward to your future... not fearful that someone else might make a joke. Might be a good idea to re-think the engagement, especially if you don't see your man very often. Good luck.

Tell him you're sorry that you didn't say I love you back. You shouldn't be ashamed enough that you wouldn't say it back to him. Who is more important to you, him or your cousin? That sort of tells the story. Don't beat yourself up about it. Just apologize to him and then resolve that you won't do it again because you are proud of your relationship with him.

You should always say I love you whenever you get the chance. To heck with what they think. You have your own life, and it is none of their business. Also, they might kid you a bit but thats because you are making a big deal of saying I love you. Once they hear you say it, and not flinch, they will back off. Trust me

You need to grow up before you get married. If you can't tell the person you love and are getting married to that you love him, no matter who is around, then you don't need to be getting married. It is just something you need to get over. I don't blame him for getting pissed, I would have too.

Maybe you aren't that proud deep down and you're having some second thoughts subconciously. You should figure it out before you actually get married.

Just apologize, reassure him you love him, and everything will be ok. This was just a little test that couples go through when relatives are around. It happens. But, it'll all be ok. Don't worry.

Dear their is nothing wrong same things had happened wid me b4 i was married n my bf(hubby)used to feel bad about it n we used to fight often ,actually some of us (girls)r not so open,but now after few days of marriage everythings r ok i kiss him n d phone ,answer him back when he says i love u.
U have to make him understand that how u feel.But n other hand u also have to prove urself,next time try to avoid this situation.Who care wat ppl think.forget it.do wat u wanna do.

I feel you on this one...
Honestly, when I speak to my love one, you know.. I don't really like talking to her when my other family members are around..
it's not because I am ashamed that they will joke around me, it's just that they criticize me too much..
part of the fact that she is younger than me, by like.. 3 years..
they start telling me, "Break up with her! she's not worth it!"
they don't understand whatsoever!!
I believe it is completely normal for you to feel that way...
I mean.. as long as you don't.. overdo it.. you know? like.. you do it ALL the time.. around your friends.. around everyone.. you know?
in my case, i tell my g/f that I love her even when i'm with my frienmds.. it's just that.. I feel embarassed when i'm around my family members you know?.. it's just around them.. around my friends.. I feel completely comfortable!! :)
I had my g/f not tell me that she loves me at times, but I don't feel angry whatsoever, I usually ask her what is up and she responds her situation.. and then I understand..
unless... your boyfriend is so insecure about you...
i wouldn't worry about him feeling bad or anything..
