It seems like you just have to somewhat know what the Bible says about God and Jesus but have a lot of faith that if you looked at the rest it would make sense.

No. No idea, combined with a lot of guilt and a strong tendency toward superstition.

That is not how it works... first, The Bible dose not prove God... God proves The Bible. If you do not know God you will never find what He has for you in The Bible..... but, to come to God you must have come to a basic understanding of the truth of your self...at the basic level that you are not worthy of God to begin with. And why that is. Then you must come to the point of knowing that you need God because you know that, in this world, you can not, of yourself, bring yourself to the point of being worthy by God's standards...this is not a contradiction, but, only God can help you to become worthy. Then there is repentance, which I will not go into here... then you must start on the path to God. This involves many things and is different for each individual... but involves learning of and about God and the requirements to come to Him...This can take years... or it can happen very quickly

Faith not based on fact is fantacy...God is The Fact... The Faith of The True Christian is based on knowing TheTruth of God... with this knowledge it is then our Faith that gives us the knowledge that God is capable of keeping the promises He makes to His people.

All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation and will become part of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head... These are the ones of The True Christian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven

I accept email questions concerning the basics of The True Christian Faith... One honest question will receive One honest answer to the best of my ability.

I would say faith, because it takes faith to believe in God. Faith is what makes you grow in your knowledge. But its also important to read the bible and be aware of what it says.

I think that's how it works for the majority of professed Christians. But there are still those who know the Bible cover to cover and have a more thoughtful approach to their faith.

Do I know that God exists? Yes. Do I know that Jesus Christ existed? Yes. Do I need a book to tell me that? No.

That's what happens in most cases. They only know what the pastor tells them - and the pastor ain't bringing up the bad stuff.

Nothing but 'faith' is required; it is a scam.
