Hell, how many believe it and still haven't read it?

I know more atheists who have read it than Christians

The more you read the less you can believe anyone who has ever read any of it believes all of it.

Mr. Nolte,
I think that many people subscribe to the Theory of Gravitiy without having read Sir Issac Newton's work. So I think that it's something else. Ah! What is it then? It's a matter of accepting something without the fuller background of it.

Anyone can join a group without knowing certain aspects of it, it happens all of the time. What happens in those cases, I believe, is that those people believe what they hear about whatever group, and make a decision to accept it as a part of their regimen.

I, for one, did not understand any where near all of the information that Christianity stands for at the time of acceptance. I was simply desparate and willing to try to see if it would save me from myself. I wanted to kill myself. It didn't matter that I hadn't read any part of the Bible all the way through at the time, and God did not require that I did. I believe that it was a matter of the heart and the desire to make the pain stop without really knowing that it was able to make the pain stop.

And yet it was able to do just that. So not only did my pain cease in certain ways, but it reaffirmed the new direction that I took with God in the focus, I still don't know how he did it, but suicide wasn't the important issue to me anymore. God has worked with me on different things in that manner on many things.

After I had read the Bible all the way through, I was treated to new things thatI never had before. I've become a sort of consultant with some of my less knowledgable Christian friends. That position both humbles me and honors me at the same time. But I give God the Glory, because without him, none of this would have taken place.

Here is a question for you to ponder, if you sign up for a physics class in college, and the professor tells you what the textbook is going to be, don't you initially assume that the professor knows what he is talking about? You assume that at least the professor has read the book, and that he has assured himself that it is a good physics textbook, or else it would not be required reading. If you find things in the book that are hard to understand, instead of immediately assuming that there are editorial errors in it, you normally give the author of the book the benefit of a doubt and you go and talk to the professor and ask about the problem, instead of immediately assuming that you know it all already, and that you are smarter than a guy with a PhD who has studied this subject all of his life.

If you are so smart, and you are so confident that you can prove that all religion is bunk because you know so much about the Bible & the history of Christianity, then why not send e-mails directly to learned theologians and prove to them that their God is imaginary, instead of wasting time here debating with amateurs? Why not end religion from the top down by getting all of the Christian leaders to step down and admit that they were wrong? All most people are doing is cutting and pasting stuff that their pastor is e-mailing to them in response to their (I.E.; your) questions anyway.

It is time to put up, or shut up. If you have no confidence in your own bull, then we don't believe in what you are saying either. Here are some prominent Christian leaders web-pages right here:

i believed it before i read it cover-to-cover from the scriptures that i had read. to date i have read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation and i believe it the Word of God more that ever. 2 timothy 3:16,17 ' All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness,  that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.'

altho i do agree that many many so called "Christians" dont even know what the Bible contains or where to look to prove their point, most cant because what they are taught is not in the Bible, but they are told it is so they believe it. everyone needs to pick up this amazing letter from God and not only read it but study it!!

"Faith comes from hearing and by hearing the word of God" Romans 10:17-
Many who "hear" the gospel believe--and so then they desire to read the Bible, continue learning and seeking God's truth. It is the "word" that brings faith. Without it, one cannot know God.
