not a problem unless you cant cope without doing it. sounds like a nice way to end a stressful day. also you must finish a bottle of wine after you have uncorked it so as you dont lose the flavors and aromas. maybe its just me but i dont like re corking wine it doesnt taste the same to me.

If you are drinking a bottle of wine as enjoyment, and you can honestly say that it is not affecting your life in a negative way, it is enjoyment.
If you are enjoying the bottle of wine and it is affecting your work or next day in a negative way, there could very well be a problem.
You have to make the decision about the effect on your life.

one bottle equals about 4 glasses of wine. that's a bit above the recommended maximum of 2 glasses. but - for most not enough to be legally intoxicated if sipped over time (not chugged). So, I don't think 1 bottle represents anything more than simple enjoyment...

Not a problem........ at my house, if I have guests, we tend to go through about 1 bottle per person if we spend that much time with guests! (They tend to leave long after midnight!)
I personally LOVE wine & if I can get in a couple of glasses at some point in a week, I'm a happy camper! Time for a bottle a week, it must have been a week with later eves with the boyfriend talking over a glass of wine!

I don't see anything wrong with it unless you go driving right after. If you ain't posing a problem to society or violetly beating your kids then bottoms up man. One wine bottle a week is good, a lot of people can't restrain themselves as well as your doing so go for it.

If there's driving afterwards, problem. If there's beating a spouse or children, problem.
On the other hand, if you watch TV, listen to music... not so much a problem.
It's a problem when you HAVE to drink it. If you can skip, not so much a problem.
Is a bottle (750ml) a lot for one person? Maybe, but it's not excessive.

Not a problem at all unless its every night. Once a week is perfectly fine, takes an edge of the stresses of life.

One bottle, one night during the week?? Doesn't sound like a problem to me. Now if it were one or two bottles everynight...well that would be a problem.

well, I would.
but
a bottle of wine is around 9 units of alcohol, if this is drunk in the evening, finishing around midnight, one may not be fit to drive first thing in the morning
