Christians blame Satan because he is the one that makes us sin. If you picture the cartoon where they have the devil one one shoulder, and the angel on the other, that's kind of what it's like. God wants us to trust Him, and when we do, Satan can't touch us because we are a child of God. But when Satan temps us into certain things, they usually aren't good things. But God gave us freewill to make our own choices, so if you choose to do what Satan wants then its probably not good. That is why Christians blame Satan. But they should blame the people that are making the decisions, especially if they are non-believers. Because if they don't know God, then they don't know the difference between the two. To do right and wrong. Instead of blaming the person, they should be encouraging them to do Godly things and to trust God. So if they are "true Christians", they are not Satanists.

When people throw blame at Satan and Hell and Evil....they're inadvertantly sending their energy in that direction, whether Satan's a read 'dude' or not. Why give power to Satan? That's what he would want. You're right in a weird sort of way. Not that they're worshipping Satan, but ...they shouldn't even be acknowledging Evil; it only breeds more evil. People should take responsibility for their own shortcomings and then pray to God for help. Plain and simple.

Absolutely not. Read The Bible. God allows all things, he doesn't cause but allows them. You are right the adversary is given too much power, he has no power over a Believer...In The Name Of Jesus. Christians should not get into debates with non-christians because they obviously don't know any better, that's the whole point we are trying to help you all. Unbelievers do what they do best, the have unbelief. I feel for them because they don't understand the truth that this world is ran by the Devil (God cast him down to earth and 1/3 of Heavens Angels (Free will exist even in heaven) This is why we have Demonic activity on earth. The Devil is reigning here, but he will be cast into the Lake, which was designed for him. But because Adam and Eve sinned and listened to the Devil, who was in serpent form, Man kind lost it's connection with the Father. Man was pretty much doomed along with Lucifer into the Lake of Fire, but God wanted to give us another chance, Therefore he came in Human Form, Jesus and offered his Life for us. Now we have Salvation...Amen...Salvation is freely offered. You have to willingly accept it. God is not going to drag us into heaven by force, we have to make a choice, as we still have Free will in Heaven as the fallen Angels indicate. Eternity is a long time, and Hell is basically "Not in the Presence of The Lord".

As a pastor I tell people to quit blaming Satan for things that he had nothing to do with. If you cheat on your wife it's because you can't keep it in your pants, not because Satan made you do it. Christians give the Devil way more credit than he deserves and don't take nearly enough responsibility for their own actions.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Glad I made a point with you. Satan, can not cause you to sin unless you listen to him. One whose focus is on God will not want to sin and if they do, should not blame God. One who focuses on Satan can be tempted, but they make the final decision to sin or not. When Jesus was in the desert, even He was tempted by Satan, but Christ withstood the temptation by speaking the Word and eventually Satan gave up. Jesus shows us how to resist evil, by focusing on His Word. Sin is man's choice. To say that Christians are satanists is a foolish statement, we don't represent anything of Satan. If you don't know that you must live in a cave. Christians close off the temptations of evil by focusing on God. If I personally sin, I blame myself.

Satan and god are created by religious people. Atheists do not blame neither for the problems of the world and humanity. We find the true causes of problems and are willing to protect our earth without any fear of conflicting with any god.

Christians have the advantage that when they blame Satan, they actually try harder next time.
When liberals play the blame game, it's to cover up their own guilt and continue to harm others.
(That doesn't make Christians right, though. Maturity involves, among other things, taking responsibility for your actions and words.)

Absolutely not..
There is no one to blame for my shortcomings but myself...
Although in this day and age most people blame their parents.
As far as I see it though...we ALL have shortcomings we just deal with them in different ways.
This is similar to the Atheist Christian Q I asked a couple of days ago.

I don't blame Satan. Every mistake that I have made is 100% me. But I thank God everyday that He chooses to love me anyways!
