dze, Al-Qaeda hiding there shouldn't have killed 3,000 of our people on 9/11. Don't blame the bear for mauling you if you kick it in the nuts.

well hate to say so true.
the problem is the devil can only do evil. if we do the same were no better them they are. if they are with the enemy then they get hert. to bad they should turn them in and not give them cover. are troops need to do a job. if they are in the way to bad.
its not only US democrats that want us out of Iraq. this war was started and ran by politicians. jw bush put us there. now we have problems. but no one can see what is the real problem is. we must win in Iraq no choice. the answer is not to fail and run home.
this is like an oil spill. jw tells the tanker captain were to go to get oil that is tainted. with out the proper save guards or crew the tanker goes. good sealing for the first part, but the tanker ran aground oil leaks out. kills the ecosystem around the spill. so the owners want the tanker to come home now but the tanker still leeks oil. the captain wants to fix the hole and contain ,surround oil leek and clean up the oil. the owners wants that tanker home now to costly and will take up to much time to clean up.
so what do you do bring the tanker home now oil leaks all over and will leak on are home land.
captain is are military. the sea Iraq. the owners the American people the tainted oil we went to get terrorist. jw is bush.
do we leave a big training ground and people that will hate us for leaving them to die. with a enemy that will kill are people were ever they are.
so what do we do all i know is the teens of today are wondering if they will have to fight this war because we ran home.

Don't get bent out of shape over comments from those like dze. Dze probably couldn't prove a fly has wings, let alone offer up any evidence that we (Americans) are the cause of death and destruction throughout the world, especially in the Middle East. People are killed in our bombing runs because the enemy likes to blend themselves in with the civilian populace. If you believe we just drop bombs carelessly and whenever we feel like it, then you are just ignorant. Terrorists and other heartless human beings in the world kill because they are murderous blood thirsty monsters. Thats why they kill. Drilling holes in peoples heads, cutting people into pieces alive, looking someone in the face while they are begging for their lives, beheading while recording it, defiling human remains, and so on is the work of blood thirsty thugs. Thats what we are dealing with. They have got to be destroyed where they sit as soon as possible or they will multiply into a number unstoppable!

No, it is not one of those times when we shouldn't interfere because of culture/history. It is one of those times where you're wrong about what is going on. People all over the world DO protest the acts of terrorists. You will be hard pressed to find a majority of people in the world that support terrorism. People across the world, however, "protest" the terrorists by speaking out against them and not supporting them. You do not have to look at very many foreign papers to find many examples of this in almost every country on the globe. When we kill someone, things are different.
The difference is that these terrorists do not have an embassy. They do not have a public organization. They do not have a government. There is no one to protest to. The terrorists are pure evil. "Protesting" in any traditional sense is a waste of time and energy. It will not help. People all over the world know this to be true. The terrorists are cowards; and there is no sense in protesting cowards. They will only hide.
It is different with a country that is considered a world leader. When the United States kills someone, accidently or not, it is assumed we know what we're doing. We claim to be the good guys. We claim that we are the world's police. We are leaders in the world community. We act, in theory, on the principles of freedom, justice, and equality. So when we kill, we are held accountable. We are fighting for freedom, but the freedom of a man, woman, or child that is killed or knows someone is killed.... their freedom is compromised. Yes, it is an accident, but the fact of the matter is that with every civilian who dies, we are contradicting our stated cause. We are taking away freedom from that person and their loved ones. We are taking away justice. We are held accountable based on the very principles that we claim to fight for, and well should we be!
Think of it this way: do you see people all over America protesting criminals every day? Not very often. But what happens when a cop kills a child, even if it is a mistake? Protests. Outcry. Sometimes even riots. The same principle is present. The assumption is that the cop should be looking out for the lives of innocent people. When an innocent dies, he is held accountable. We should be glad that people are protesting. This means that we are held to a high standard. We should be held to a high standard. Accidents are going to happen, but we need to accept responsibility. We would do the same thing if our innocents were being killed.

Because no one wants to believe that secretarian violence is the root cause of the problem, we are just a side issue in the big picture. I have been to iraq twice, and most dont truly care about us, most of the times where we are, there is not an issue, but they always seem to find a way to blow each other up in the name of their religious practices. All we (the military) are now is a bargaining chip to be used in the upcoming elections, but i still serve my country honorably and will continue to do so for whomever is the president. It is my sworn duty, many people will never understand that.

Because as a tax payer and a voter I have some control over what the US does, but I have no control over the "terrorists".
By the way, if you shoot an automatic rifle into a crowd of people it is not an accident when they get hit.

its because our accidental killings are so highly publicized, and in a sympathetic way. In the general news, you usually dont get all the details about the enemy's killings. You just hear it happened, and since it doesnt affect Americans, directly or indirectly, no one cares.

If the Iraqi people felt we were imposing our will on them, they prbably wouldn't have tried to tear down the statue of Saddam inn the early stages of the invasion. We're not the cause of the insurgents killing people, but unfortunately removing Saddam removed most of the fear they had of reprisal for these acts.
I can't speak intelligently on the inner feelings of the democrats in congress, but they do tend to pander to their voters, and many of their voters have adopted all the conspiracy theories they read on the internet. That's the downside of the information age. You have a whole bunch of information available, but people have to choose what they believe blindly and what they actually research.

I can't help but hang my head in shame when I see responses from those who say "we shouldn't be there" in the first place!
My suggestion....withdraw all our forces (US and International Peace Keepers)...let the terrorists have free run of the globe...again...and standby our communities praying that these terrorists don't make it to this country...again...and kill another 3000 innocent lives as they did on 9/11!
It's so sad to see how fast some forget those souls who did absolutely NOTHING to ask for terrorists to fly the planes into the towers and into the Pentagon...those who've been beheaded in the Muslim world...those who've been killed by terrorists who want nothing more than to kill Americans!
They have declared war against us...so don't tell me we don't need to take the battle to their soil ... better there than on our own!
