You can carry your luggage on to the ship, instead of checking it with the carriers. You may not get your luggage until late that night if you don't carry your own on. Also the same goes for carrying your luggage OFF the ship. Do it yourself. It'll save time and money. (You won't have to tip the luggage guys. And you won't have to wade through a sea of luggage when you get off to find yours.) You'll just get off the ship (typically if you carry your own you are the first ones off) and you'll go right to your taxi, or whatever is waiting for you.
Make sure not to drink anything provided in your room unless you want to pay for it. They put it there to drink, but then charge you for it if you do.
Get to the dock early. They'll tell you to get there at a certain time but you can go early and get on the ship sooner. You can start your cruise as soon as you get on board. (Refreshments, food, etc.) Be prepared to wait in line to get on the ship.
Take your passport. You may not HAVE to have it but it's much better if you do.
Tell the photographers you don't want your picture taken every time you turn around. Unless you do...
If you have not booked your room - get one near the center of the ship and NOT all the way at the top of the ship. It does not go up and down and back and forth like the front, back and upper rooms do. Get a balcony if you can afford it.
Cruises are a wonderful way to vacation but there are things that are frustrating such as these. You are smart for asking for tips like this. RELAX and ENJOY yourself!!!

Do some research on the islands you will be visiting. This will help in determining if it's a good shopping island or beach island. Maybe it's an island you want to go on a excursion.
Bring plenty of sunscreen and a hat. Oh yea and money.
Most of all, have a great trip.

Be careful, don't drink to much, do not become overly friendlly with male passengers. And stay away from the railing. Other than that have a good time. Make sure you use your common sense. Good Luck have a good time

Don't fall overboard and get a good room...with a toilet because once I was...waith you don't need to know. Just find the arcade or casino. Chill out, relax, unwind a little. And then pay me back.
