I need a part time job that I could bring my son with me to, and I can't think of anything to do besides childcare. What are some options?

Maybe you can take a course in medical transcription. Then you can work from home with your kid right there and still make good money.

Good question. I have 2 children and I just dont see paying for daycare or a babysister. So my solution was to get a job at a day care center. Most places will either charge you 50% of what a normal parent would pay OR you could get free child care.

Right now what I am doing -- I work for FedEx. While I am at work, my children (and husband) are sleeping. I get home just in time for him to leave for work. I get my daughter up for school then spend the rest of the day with my youngest who is 3. We then nap together. It's part time.. I usually start around 2am and I leave at 6:30am and the pay is great for a PT job!!

Also 1 more idea -- have you thought of trying to "work from home"?

I would suggest a direct sale business, life Pampered Chef or medical transcription where you can work from home. Childcare is always an issuing when trying to work. However, it can be worked out be encouraged.

Well, I was going to suggest child care, so there goes that idea. I know there are several valid work at home jobs that you could do right at your computer. The Home Shopping Network and 1800 Flowers hires people to take calls from their homes. You could deliver newspapers or drive some sort of transportation vehicle.

Be a care provider for a seasoned citizen. DSHS/Copes is a start. Some of them love to have little ones around. Or go to craigslist.com and put an ad in jobs to be a companion to a senior. Sometimes you will find people willing to pay just to have someone drive them shopping, doctor's appointments, beauty shoppe etc. or just be there to talk to them. You would be giving your little one an extra G-parent as well. Good luck!

Sometimes bus drivers can bring children along - school or city. Check in your area - kids can sit in the seat right behind the driver, and if it is school bus, you often work a few hours in the morning and a few in the afternoon.

If you get a newspaper delivery route, you can make a few hundred bucks a month, and your little one can sleep in the car the whole time.
