On a calm day it is a possibility, but on a windy day on a sand bottom you might have a problem. You would probably have to hope it gets lodged on something.

Sure it will. I did likewise with my old 12lb fax machine and used it for a boat anchor...too bad i only had 6lb test line for my anchor rope.
Be sure to clean the hard drive first. Those little school fishes don't need to be looking at porn.

If it is a computer from 2002 and earlier yes it should but if it is older than that it might not be heavy enough.
