My boyfriend of 5 years just left me with no warning while I was at work two days ago. I am utterly devastated. He never told me he was even unhappy. Sure we fought, but who doesn't? He says there are things that I have been doing that were driving him away..But he never told me!! How can I convince him to give me another chance? We were best friends before we started dating, and now I feel I have lost everything.

I feel that maybe you two should get to know one another better and maybe talk about those things that were driving him away. Have him list the good qualities in you and the bad and you do the same and work on them if he is willing to meet you with halfway. I know that some people feel that they can't talk and run away instead of sitting down and listening that is the keyword listen to him and vise versa and then talk about it. Then maybe at that point the love and relationship will mend or vanish because 5 yrs is alot of time in a relationship. Tell him if he can't face the past it will be hard for him to every really have a solid relationship with anyone. Good luck:)

oh geeez...sorry to hear that. First of all you deserve an explanation from him because 5 yrs building a relationship is not easy. It sounds like he is immature because he left you without giving an explanation. What kinda guy is that? well, if I were you I would keep going after him until he could explain it to me because, 5 yrs! you deserve anything, F that! he better give an explanation. Dont wait and give him a chance to leave just like that. He needs to be responsible. If he is annoyed with you chasing him around to get an explanation, guess what? that is his problem! besides, he put you in the situation like this, so...dont even think how to convince him or anything, first u need to do, get an explanation from him and then you can start talk to him nicely. Dont you ever convince him for now because he was the one who dropped a bom without any sign, you should know that he lost his interest in you, if you tried to convince him; you push him further and further away from you.

Yes you do deserve another chance. For one thing communication is the most important thing in any relationship and it does not seem like he is that type of person.... You really need to track him down, sit down with him and have a one on one conversation about your problems. This is the only way you will really know why he left and may be able to patch things up. Good luck! :)

If he left w/o any warning, he found someone else. Change of heart...happens all the time. Learn from it and chalk it up as a loss. You probably deserve better anyway. Celebrate being SINGLE!! Five years is a long time! Enjoy yourself. I'm sure you are better off w/o that pig!

No not really. Harsh yes but you have to respect another persons wishes. He doesn't need to give you another chance unless he wants too. You need to look at the reason why you would want one.

If he just left you for no reason, this is no man for you. I can see that you really like him, but obviously he didn't love you back. But if you want to try and get back with him try to get him to tell you what went wrong, and if he doesn't, then he doesn't deserve you. Good Luck *_*

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! Give him time and he will come back. Everyone does fight! Me and my ex are horrible at fighting, that's what drove us to breaking up. He always had to be right...but that's a different matter. Give it time. Tell him things will be different. Don't go back into the relationship until you are ready to give it your all!

Even if he's not willing to give you another chance, he does owe it to you to explain why he felt he just had to get up and leave.

You deserve an explanation....that much is true.
