Obviously, the sources are different. But are their major differences in taste, sugar content, carbonation, inherent benefits between the same soda (i.e. Coke) from a fountain vs. bottled/canned?

Ingredients wise no, % of ingredients yes.

A canned/bottled soda in a consistant combination set by the manufacturer. It will always be the same.

A fountain soda is mixed "in-house" meaning that the persent of syrup to soda will never be consistant. It depends who changed the tanks out and how high they set the flow.

I think fountain soda tastes better than canned/bottled. It's a fresher taste. Also, this may be totally stupid, but I live in Central Florida, and when I go to the beach, the fountain soda tastes different, kinda saltier. I like it better.

I am not sure the technical or scientific differences, but YES. I love fountain soda, I can't explain it but it has a different taste, so does soda from a can, Dr. Pepper in a can has so much carbonation, makes me burp so much. Someday, I hope to have a soda machine installed in my house, so I can have fountain soda anytime!

each fountain drink would be distinctive - some would be fizzier, some would be thicker, and so on... that's by way of fact all fountains will perform quite in a distinctive way by way of mechanics, circumstances of cleanliness and maintenance, and so on... some could output greater syrup than others, on a similar time as some could output greater carbonation, or greater water. they're in all risk arranged the comparable, yet circumstances the place they're placed could have them working in a distinctive way. All bottled soda of each type, as an occasion, Coke, must be the comparable, as they're made in processing flowers that are laptop maintained.

canned soda is mixed before canning. Fountain soda is mixed at the store you get it from. The syrup comes separate from the carbonation..
