No, They don't. Our souls stay here until Judgement Day. When Jesus comes back to Earth...This is the Beginning of the Judgement...We will stand before God, and be Judged, and that is what will get us into Heaven or Hell..
But for now, and even in Death, until the Judgement Day we are all here, waiting....

I can honestly answer that question for you since God had visited me. Read my story called :"The Fog" the link is in my blog.
That really happen to me and I have been ever so gifted as a chosen one to visual see what occured that day.
Anyhow, to answer your questions. When you die your physical portion of your body is useless and gone, but the spiritual formation lives on. You will rise up as Jesus did, but when you do you will be called to be judged by your works.
If you die and get your wings you will not return to Earth, you will move on to God's wonderful place in heaven unlike the Earth, it is more beautiful than ever and you will wait for your loved ones to join you when they die.
If you don;t get your wings right away, you may be sent back to earn your wings. This is where you must go on a mission to save a soul or to help change thre souls of some chosen by God and when your mission is complete you get your wings and move on.
Get ready for this!!
A friend of mine was dying from Cancer and I told him if he would come back and let me know if there was a heaven and this was before my visual of the fog. He came back and told me there was heaven.
When I called his house to see if he was alright, he naswered the phone and said like always "Whats up Bubba",
then his wife said hello. I said Hey Riley its Al hows everything going>?
His wife said who is this and I said who is this, and she said Mary and I said Riley must be on the other phone. She Said is this Al and I said yea, She Al, Riley died three months ago and I said he just answered the phone and I started crying real hard. Riley let me know there was a heaven. And the catch here is that Riley made me promise to im that I would check ojn Mary after he died and I kept my promise and so did he, but he didn;t let me know there was aheaven until I made that call checking on him and Mary.
True Story and I shared it with you!!\
Peace and God Bless

You have the first part right. Christ is the one that God authority to do the resurrecting. Until everyone remains in Sheol or Hell (not a place of torment) until Christ comes. 144,000 will go to heaven with Christ to rule as coruler and priest in Gods' Heavenly kingdom rule over the earth.
Rev. 14:1 "And I saw, and, look! the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads."
Rev. 5:9 "And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”
Rev. 20:4 "And I saw thrones, and there were those who sat down on them, and power of judging was given them. Yes, I saw the souls of those executed with the ax for the witness they bore to Jesus and for speaking about God, and those who had worshiped neither the wild beast nor its image and who had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand. And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years."
The ones that don't go to heaven will be resurrected to perfect conditions on earth. Those found righteous to resurrection of life, those wicked will be cut off( non-existant, not tortured in flames)
John 5:28,29 tells us
" Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. "
Psalms 37:9-11, 29
"For evildoers themselves will be cut off,
But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.
10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;
And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.
29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it

And the question is...?
Our bodies don't go to heaven, those stay in our graves. Our soul goes to heaven as soon as we die. Sorry, you are a little off the track there.

you are close.......when judgment comes....144,000 will go to heaven, the bad will be cast to hell with Lucifer and his angels and the rest will return to earth to rule for 1000 yrs with Jesus in peace and harmony. That is what heaven is, the actual heaven is reserved for a slight few, the main saints.

"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"
When we take our last breath on Earth, we are immediately in the presence of God..
Our worn out 'shell' is in the grave but our souls leave right away...
