You can drink any amount of soda you want. There is no limit on what you can drink with braces on.

This isn't the answer you want but don't drink soft drinks, cut them out. It is plain bad for you. If you must drink one, drink one that is low in coloring and sugar (the thing that helps cavities).
I would try to cut this to 2-3 times then only 2 times then 1 time then 0 :)
Oh, what impact does it have (question above). Right now part of his/her teeth are protected. By drinking a solution that has the ability to improve the chances of cavities and discoloration, a person with braces will potentially have issues with the difference of color of the protected parts of the teeth vs. the nonprotected parts. Make sense?
Best of luck.

Steer clear of soft drinks. They do not do a body good. Most soft drinks contain Aspartame, a sugar substitute, also a Rat Poison.

Drink Water. Do never take any sugar substitutes. They have various names, like Splenda, Cantrell, Nutra Sweet. Even fructose made from Corn syrup is not beneficial. And we all know by now we should not take sugar either. It is amazing how quickly you learn to exist without sugar!-

I'm done with my braces now, i barely drank soft drinks... however you should'nt have one everyday, 2-3 cans/cups a week is about right, without effecting your braces too much. My friend also had them, he was drinking soft drinks everyday and it didn't effect his progress, i suggest you just try to keep off them or cut them down to 2/3 a week.
Good luck...

i am going to be soooo boring now.
soda will rot your teeth, try the penny test. and sitting in a dentists chair having drills pushing into your mouth is something that no one enjoys and most of us hate. getting toothache or worse still an infection in the root can be the worst pain imaginable and nothing but nothing can stop that pain except pulling the tooth or waiting until the antibiotics work.
straight white teeth are one of the most attractive things in a member of the opposite sex, we all hate to see bad teeth and even crooked teeth can look unsightly. bad teeth also cause bad breath,..... not attractive. crooked teeth trap food which can also cause decay....so why are you even considering an alternative, a few months with braces, cutting down on soda and an excellent oral hygiene programme will give you a smile for life which you can be proud of. and believe me you will be so grateful you did it in years to come. i am and so are my children who are grown up

You can drink Sodas. I would try to switch to a suger free version and maybe 1-2 cans a day, but be sure to drink it all in one sitting. Do not sip your sodas. When you sip the sodas that causes erosion of your enamel because the acidity of your oral cavity increases. Hope this helps

What does drinking soda have to do with braces?

Soda is BAD for you. It should be a treat--once in a while. Not only does it make you fat, it ruins the teeth your trying so hard to improve.

I'd totally knock the soda on the head, it's Cario Genic and you will be more prone to dental caries if you drink It every day with every meal.
If you cant stay off it altogether try and limit your intake, if your orthodontist thinks you are not keeping your oral hygiene up to his/her standard he/she may well abort the treatment.
You need to Maritain excellent oral hygiene whilst wearing orthodontic appliances so give the soda's a miss.

don't overdo it, but as long as you are brushing really well, you should have no limit!!!
