It would depend on what you are fishing for and what state you live in. I would contact your local DNR office to find out. In most states you can get a free guidebook explaining all seasons and restrictions. These may also be available and sporting goods stores or other places that sell licenses.

Every state is diff. and every river can be different also. Pick up a state fishing regulation book and it will tell you about every reigon in your state. A lot of rivers are open year around if it is catch and release.

coarse fishing ends 15th march but Salman and trout are in season on some rivers.Check with your local tackle shop they will give the information also give advice on local lakes where fishing is allowed all year

you must have a coarse fishing licence to fish the rivers!!! it tells you on the back of the licence the closed season dates.
