I have noticed when driving thru a curve at teeming speeds,people in the opposite lane eye's open wide.,?

What causes this reation?Can that reation make a elderlies heart rate climb if they are skeered?

so how do you feel if your driving in a teeming speed on a curve then a few meters away is a bus approaching in the same lane in teeming speed,,,,,do you closed your eyes or your eyes just popped out of its socket??/
