yes, lpn's can work anywhere that rn's can, they just have certain limitations on their practice which is usually set by state nursing boards. lpn's usually aren't allowed to push iv medications or administer blood products. i am an rn in an er and this hospital requires an rn to sign all the charts behind the lpn. it's the first time i've encountered it but i guess each hospital has its own policy. some of the best nurses i have worked with have been lpn's and i would trust them to work on me or a family member any day.

Depending on the state that you live in, LPNs can work just about anywhere...from MD offices to the Operating Room and even the Emergency Room. It depends on what you want to do and if you want to put in the extra work to get the credentials and experience. You can also work in Home Care not just as a field nurse but you can also be an Intake Coordinator or Managed Care Coordinator. There are lots of places to work. If you get the LPN Advance, look in back of the magazine. It has all kinds of job opportunities. They have nursing home but they also have Physician Networks that want LPNs as well as City Hospitals. Hope it helps.

Absolutely! Many doctors are happy to hire LPN's - they cost less than RN's and can do many, if not most, of the same things RN's do.

Of course! They work in hospitals, they can do home health care, they can work in schools, in public health, in health education, in rehab facilities, and in clinics. LPN's work all over the health care system.

This is a good question to ask the Career Counselor at the institute where you are studing to become LPN. Also look on the Internet at http://lpn.jobs.topusajobs.com/
