Well it depends what exactly are your interests - political science is not such a narrow area. If it's European or American politics, I don't think that learning Japanese or Chinese would be an essential thing. However if you are interested in Asian politics, it'd be pretty important. Also, Greek and Latin are not of major importance in your field (I do not mean that all these are not interesting languages). Besides, being a natural English speaker is already a tremendous advantage. So I'd say it'd have to be French, Spanish or German - for a longer European stay, rather French or German, for a longer American career, rather Spanish.

Hi im doing the same major as you also with law. Well depends on what you want to do in the future Chinese would be a great option, if you think about it not many people from occidental i mean speak it. You said you wanted to live in Uk, then you most go for Japanese/ Chinese.
If you aint European tht would be ur best options. why? cos in europe lot of people ( im from europe) Speak at least 2 languages being in the majority bilingual.
With you major you would have lot of competition.
Its really tough i Speak Spanish/ English, some German and restarting my French, after it i would go for Russian or Chinese .. do know
hope it helped.

In case your next steps will be somehow connected with Asia, or if you are in contact with Asian people, you can learn Chinese. Probably the Mandarin one would the best as it has a lot of speakers in this continent. Similarly, Italian I would learn in case I would be in contact with some Italians. But if not than I think it is better to learn French or Spanish. Nowadays, they are on the top, they are widely used, they are official languages of several countries, and have much more speakers than Italian or German.

I am learning Japanese, German, AND Spanish. It really depends on if you plan on going anywhere....
If you planning on staying in the US, Spanish; but really any of them could be helpful depending on where in the US you live. Such as Texas and Florida and California are big Spanish-speaking places.
If you live in Canada, then I would suggest French.
If you are going to live in the UK, probably French as well.
There would be no use for you to learn Chinese or Japanese unless you plan on going to those 2 countries or have a lot of friends who speak those languages, or else you'll just forget everything.
French and Spanish are probably the Easiest ones, While Chinese and Japanese the hardest. Japanese really isn't that hard, unless you aren't very good at picking up languages.

You should really ask yourself in what field would you like to utilize this language?! ie. if you are to romance the ladies then Italian or French. If you are going into foreign trade then Chinese. If you are going into investemnt banking and global real estate then Japanese and so on... Keep in mind though.... there is no need to predict the future, any additional language you learn will somehow come in handy one day.

I would suggest french... its so nice and besides there's lots of 'pays francophones'. Their literature is really rich and even though it's not the simplest to learn, you'll notice that speaking french is a sure sign of great culture... don't know why... and people are always impressed by 'french talkers' Bonne chance pour la suite... bisous!
