Is the food , service, etc. good for the money? I have seen mixed reviews but I want honest opinions.

IF you are a big eater, and IF you order the all you can eat pasta - this is worthwhile. You get an appetizer and three different pastas for less than $25. The food is okay - certainly not among the best in New York. The place is always crowded and sometimes the servers rush you. If you order a la carte and don't get the pasta special, I think the food is overpriced for the quality. It's a very popular place, but not everyone who walks out of there is happy. I've been there several times - usually at the request of my dinner companions - I never suggest it. I've never had anything really bad there, but, I have never had anything outstanding either. I have had outstanding dishes at Felidia, Lidia's other restaurant. It's more expensive than Becco, but the food is much better.

The "All You Can Eat" pasta special is incredible, always three great dishes and you really can get second and third helpings if you want it....but you might not because the first portion is big enough!
The osso bucco is also really good!
I've always found the service to be good, and the wine steward is especially nice and not at all snobby about what you are drinking.
It can be loud downstairs in the front bar area, but upstairs is a smaller, nicer room. Also, the room in the back with the skylight is nice if you are going for lunch/early dinner.
Everyone I bring there loves it! My only complaint is that it would be nice to have more vegetarian options on the menu.

Hey Now...
Becco is a GREAT place for the $21.95 prix fixe, all you
can eat dinner.
Its like a "Pasta Orgy" according to Zagats.
The service is good and the wine list is both
excellent & reasonable with many $20.00 bottles available!!!
Yes its crowded but its worth the wait.

It's good if you have a lot of people who like to eat a lot. The food isn't great, but you get a lot.
The service is ok, but depends on the time you hit it, can get over crowded and you can wait awhile. You can do better.

I have eaten there twice. It's like eating in a drum and somebody is playing it . That's how loud it is. The service is good but the food is not.
