It's good that he is a puppy and you can get him used to anything. You can either get a doggy toothbrush and toothpaste, or what I do with my puppy is once a week (probably should do it more often though but once a week is all we remember to) use these lil wipes and brush his teeth, gums, and tongue.

We also give him Yip Yaps which work fairly well on a small dog (as they are rather small). A big dog would probably just swallow it whole. Greenies also help their breath. They've been getting a lot of bad press recently but they seem more digestable than many dog foods. You just have to be careful and not give your dog one daily. I wouldn't give him more than one a week. and never the Big ones that are suppose to last 10 days. My sisters dog ate the whole thing in about 2 hours.

Also, his breath smells like poo b/c he is eatting it. Yep. When he goes outside. Try hiding/burying like a rubber boucy filled with peanut butter. Then he can use his excellent skills at tracking that instead of tracking doggie poo.

have you tried brushing his teeth with dog tooth paste and a doggie tooth brush?
