The highest rank you can get before basic is Lance Corporal E3 and that takes 60 hours of college. I got PFC E2 just for enlisting two others.

At least that's the way it was 30 years ago.

The maximum advancement in rank while enlisting in the Corps is a maximum of E-2, the Army differs.

If you enlist, you will go thru boot the same as the rest of them. After graduation, you may be promoted to PFC even without all that college. Depends on how well you do and how you applied yourself. Your college could be a big help AFTER you get out of Boot. But, in boot, you ain't s**t and they are going to let you know that,,,,real fast.

Evenryone who goes to boot camp is a trainee, rank Buck Private [E-1]. I don't think you get any special privelege for some college education.

#4 got it right - the USMC will give you only one stripe and only for college not just a HS diploma...Army may give more.
