Worshipping of idols/statutes dates back from the days of moses and is plain stupid and hypocritical, not forgetting disrespecting the creator GOD who clearly said You shall not make for yourself an image, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

So it is stupid and people who do it need to stop bowing to them as it is wrong. Simple as.

Better yet why do people like JW's worship which is obviously false and illogical. Why does anyone worship an entity that would induce a man to slaughter his son to appease his god. His reward for almost doing it was an angel stepping in and substituting a ram to be slaughtered instead. Sons here are valued but daughters aren't. God doesn't stop Jephthah from roasting his daughter as a human sacrifice to fulfill his promise after killing every man woman and child (Ammonites) in their town Judges Chap 11 Lot offers his daughters up to be gang raped by the Sodomites. etc Apparently god is a misogynist

They do not worship statues. If I say that "snow is white", I did not mean that the word "snow" is white, but that the thing the word "snow" names is white. People worship the things symbolized by those statues, not the statues. You do not love the photo of your mother, you love the mother represented by that photo. Symbol - Symbolized.

...the Symbol of a loved & worshiped something does indeed get to be valued higher than other objects, but it is all done for the sake of the Symbolized.

Sometimes we can confuse cultural gestures of reverence for gestures of worship. In doing so, we often judge not as God does, by what is in the heart, but rather by appearances (see Jn 8:15, Is 11:3).

People don't worship the actual statues. The statues are used as representations of other symbols within their religion.

The statues represent God. They worship lots of different statues, because each statue represents a different quality of God.

Well, you should be more sorry that you're a no-Englisher.
But anyway, I guess you do have a point, worshipping something that isn't even alive doesn't make much sense.

Do you carry photos of your loved ones in your wallet or purse? If yes, does this mean you worship them? Of course not. They are just there to remind you of the people you love. The same holds true with statues. People do not (should not) worship them. They just remind us of people we love.

People worship statues because they represent something bigger and more spiritual. It's not the statue they praise it's the idea and spirituality that is represented by the statue.

Wow. Your English is terrible. People worship statues because it is better than worshipping imaginary deities.

Would you prefer to drive a real car or a car you could neither see nor feel?
