CINNAMON!!! No, I'm not crazy. Cinnamon really helps control your blood sugar. In an article titled 'Cinnamon & Spice and Everything Nice' in the March-April issue of No Greater Joy Magazine author Debi Pearl discusses the benefits of cinnamon for diabetics. Here is an excerpt from that article, "Research shows that cinnamon does improve type 2 diabetics' ability to respond to insulin, thus helping to normalize blood sugar levels. Compounds in cinnamon stimulate insulin receptors while at the same time inhibiting an enzyme that deactivates them, thus significantly improving the cells' ability to use glucose. Studies have shown that less than half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day reduces blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. In testing, even when participants added sweets to their diets, cinnamon was able to help control their blood sugar levels. This amount of cinnamon also significantly lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Cinnamon also has the remarkable ability to reduce inflammation in the body. Inflammation is now being targeted as a major killer." Go to http://www.bulkherbstore.com/ and click on the new product 'Doctor Cinnamon Tea' for more on the benefits of cinnamon. It also has the whole article that I talked about. Hope this helps! :)

Eat mostly whole fresh foods - meat .chicken etc.including the good carbs of fresh fruits and veggies.
Stay away from:
all processed foods [crackers, cookies, chipc etc.]; Trans fats;
potatoes, bread and rice [only 'very' occasionaly as they raise the glycemic index and no fruit juices]
Also use Stevia sweetner not equal or splenda types.
Most important.... Exercise, cardio at least 3-4 days a week for a min of 30 minutes each session.
Finally, eat 6 small meals rather than 3 big meals [snack on nuts, blueberries etc.].

Every morning make yourself a cactus shake, it tastes nasty but, if you drink it regularly it helps control your sugar.
I also heard, if you drink 6 glasses of water in the morning before doing anything at all or eating, just strait from your bed, and you have to drink them one after the other, it should help you lose weight, control your sugar, control high or low blood pressure, colesterol, etc. water flushes everything out of your system, my mom tried it and she was feeling great, it's just a matter of getting used to drinking so much water at once.
You should also take your priscriptions and follow your Doctor's recommendatios. If the water or the shake help control your sugar levels, your Doctor will notice when he runs tests and he will reduce your medications if he see's it appropriate.

Check out youngliving.com. They sell a product called NingXia Red that is a nutritional drink based on the NingXia Wolfberry. It naturally balances blood sugar levels. I know a couple of diabetics that use it and they have been able to cut down on their insulin.
Triple Leaf Tea makes a sugar balance tea.
Try both.

lYeah Sure . There is some kind of Tree called Safeda in Hindi .I don't know what they say in English. It is a very tall tree. The leaves are long.Everyday boil that leaves ( 80 - 100 leaves)in water for 1 hour. then through the leaves and drink the water. it would have a terrible taste but it will sure help you.
second think you can do is to drink the Karella water. I mean the karella juice( its also a hindi word).its a vegetable. you can buy from the vegetable market and blend in the blender and drink.it would also be awful but it helps.
Thanks

I discontinued sugar in my coffee and cereal in the morning. I stay away from breads first thing in the am and muffins.
I eat 2 snacks in between meals and I usually eat a protein, piece of cheese on celery, egg, cold chicken.
Don't eat lots for the snacks.
I try to stay away from processed sugar as much as I can stand.
I didn't go cold turkey, I gradually lessened my use of sugar.
I don't peak and trough anymore(up and down)
and I don't eat alot of high sugar foods.
I do have the occasional treat but I try to snack and eat alot of fresh veggies.
I have decreased my intake of fruits, breads. pasta and rice and eat more veggies, fresh and cooked with my meals.

eat more often. . . make your "meals" closer to "snack" size. Cut carbs to a minimum and try to add some walks to your day. Take the dog out for extra laps.
