Sorry about the mispelling. I'm not a good typist. MORMON--LDS
So far almost everyone says they're normal people--JUST HAPPIER and NICER.
That's a big compliment if you ask me.

Yes. I've met many. Some are very nice, smart, cool and some are A******* like any other religious group.

Do you mean a Mormon. Also known as LDS or latter-day saints.

Yeah. They are really nice people.

Most people think they have multiple wives but none of the many Mormons I have met have more than one wife.

There are a lot of rumors that people believe about Mormons but they can't believe everything they hear without ever going to a Mormon church or coming in contact with a Mormon and asking them if those rumors are true.

But the only way to find out for yourself is to talk to a Mormon, you can't rely on what other people tell whether its a negative comment or not.

Yep, I know a lot of Mormons. They are for the most part very nice people and community oriented. The Mormons I have met are active members of the Church. They are very devoted to their religion and have strong testimonies of their faith. I have met a few inactive members, they were great also.

I got my present job from a Mormon, before I was working at current job I had been robbed on two different occasions while working front desk at a hotel. She took my wife and I into her house near Tampa for three months and helped me get an interview at IBM.

I think the world of her and people like her. They set a good example that the rest of us should follow.

I'm Mormon. I think I'm like a lot of my non-Mormon friends and family. There are differences, but usually those things aren't major obstacles in my friendships. Some differences include that I don't shop or go eating out on Sundays, I don't drink coffee, tea, or alcohol. I don't smoke. I don't wear overly revealing clothing, but I don't get mistaken for someone from the Victorian era either. I don't cuss. I do go to church every Sunday. I do read my scriptures and say my prayers every day. I try to do what's right as I understand it. I try to treat others with courtesy and respect and try to remember that they're probably doing the best they can and that everyone is entitled to a bad day every so often and this just might be theirs.
I don't go around trying to convert all my non-member friends, family, acquaintances, strangers, etc. But I do try to answer any questions they may have, and tell them that if they ever do have any questions about Mormonism, to ask me.

So, you tell me. What do you think I'm like? Am I really weird? Or am I as normal as your other neighbors?

UPDATE: KC, you're probably right. We do tend to be concerned about what we wear, because we want to dress modestly. We also tend to take a few extra seconds in the bathroom because a lot of us have been through the temple and due to this have promised to wear the garment, which doubles as underware. And the garment includes a top, which a lot of us tuck in. And you know how it takes a little while to tuck anything. And there are a lot of us who are concerned (maybe overly concerned) about how we're seen by others, because we know that for a lot of people we (individually) represent the church and Mormons world wide, so we want to make sure we aren't doing or look like we're doing anything that would not reflect positively on the church as a whole. As far as women having low self-esteem...I don't know. Maybe some of us, but most of the women I know from church seem pretty happy or at least contint. There's a saying that goes, To whom much is given, much is required. We feel like we have something that other religions don't. So we feel like we have been given more, therefore more is required of us, and sometimes that can be a little daunting. But to say that we have low self-esteem... I don't think so, as a rule.

Pacino, I think Chick-fil-a is owned by Pentacostals, not Mormons. At least I've never heard of it being owned by Mormons.

I lived next door to a family of Mormons for 10 years who were an absolute joy to be around. But I don't think you can assume anything on the basis of someones religion.

I grew up with them. Mostly they are like other people, with a couple of exceptions. The women I think have rather low self-esteem and simper a lot. They are extremely concerned about their appearance and if you ask me are overly obedient. They take a very long time to go to the bathroom because of their magic underwear.

The men do most of the preaching.

They seem to me very concerned about doing anything they're not supposed to do... but maybe that's just me.

I know several. They are human. Many of them are good people and some I wouldn't let my children around. That is not a Mormon thing. I am simply stating that I see no difference between them and the rest of society.
I personally know of one who is a child sex offender, but that does not alter my view of Mormons as a whole.

There are many Mormons where I am at today. They are very normal people minus alcohol (no imbibing for pleasure). They generally seem to have the same religion elitist attitude as most other sects.

They are usually pretty nice (in general, though I have met the bad ones before). You wouldn't know they were Mormons if they didn't tell you. I'd bet you have met a few and did not know it.

Yep. I met one. He told me that they weren't allowed to drink or eat things that would alter their moods. But he constantly drank coke which has caffeine which alters your mood. But he was a bit weird like that. He wasn't a big religious nut. He actually never did anything religious except go to a church camp but that was only because his friends went there too.

My best friend is mormon. They just have a bad rep. about their religion, which isn't even true. They are very nice people who live by a moral code that more people should follow.
