Having it pierced hurts a little...pretty commonsense, really. Still, not as much as people who have never had it done might imagine.
Once it heals there's no soreness or anything. If there were, the past 10 years (and counting) I've had one sure would have been miserable.

Never EVER listen to advice that begins with "I heard that..." when it comes to tattoos or piercings. Myth, misinformation, and paranoia gets so exaggerated by those three words.

The pain is a little more than some other piercings but not too bad. they are uncomfortable for a few days while they swell but it's more annoying than painful. as long as you take care of it there isn't much danger, just make sure to get dental safe acrylic tongue rings so you don't damage your teeth

My friend has one and she said it didn't hurt that bad getting it done and has never caused her problems. I say go for it, just be sure to take care of it! Once it heals be careful of the material the jewelry is made of, because metal will hurt your teeth. I will say that her tongue ring feels amazing! ; )

iv herd ppl say they hurt but i didnt know ne one who had problems with them as long as u follow the care taking rules n keep it clean! as goes for all piercings, im getting mine done in a week ( waiting for the paycheck) so obviously i have nothing against it, just make sure theyt pierce it with a clean needle, n all thats jazz!! n yeh i herd the swelling sucks but it wonht b there that long, n u cant eat spaghetti for a while. but those r just the bad things. if u dont keep it clean tho(mouth is the dirtiest place), or u smoke b4 its done healing u can cause a big infection that can go up to ur brain n cause nerve cell damage ( worst case senario ever!!!) ne ways, good luck!

My friend got her tongue pierced, and she said it wasn't super painful but it did hurt. But she says that you get used to it being there and if you get it done right it shouldn't hurt after.

I have one. It didn't really hurt doing it but the swelling was uncomfortable. I just sucked on ice for about a week. They are not dangerous as far as I know. I have had mine for 6 years with no issues.

It seems hazardous to my health & there fore I'm not doing it. I've seen tongues swollen & infected. I can't seen the reasoning behind it?

Aside from them being totally tacky... they can ge hazordous to your health. Everyone I know who's had them has had dental damage, like broken teeth and rot. Gross.
