It's not a sin, but just not smart. If you are looking for a Christian answer- God blessed you to have money. A lot of people are not blessed in that area. If He blessed you in that, why would you want to waste it? There's been seasons in my life where I had no money to even pat bills, and God was there for me and provided. (It took a lot of prayer). But really my point is, is that there are times where I wish I didn't have to worry about if I can pay bills or not. And I know that I don't have to because God will always provide for me. But you should feel extremely blessed that you don't have to struggle with that if he is providing for you.

A sin? It might be a crime to waste other people's money.
It's probably immoral to waste money when someone in your family is in need. It's probably irresponsible to waste money when there are people in your community who could use a good meal. But a sin? I don't think religion has that one covered.

I don't know so much about sin, but it is stupid to waste ANYTHING, money included!
Even if you are very rich, if you are willing to overpay for goods and services, you make life difficult for those less well-heeled than yourself, and you create the opportunity cost of good things you could have done with the money.

Money, along with everything we have is a gift from God. Would you consider it a slap in God's face (a sin) to waste something He has given you?
I would.

No- but it does sicken me to see all the money wasted in Iraq that could be used to rebuild New Orleans and help Americans instead of a bunch of terrorists who couldn't care less about us.

A sin to your wallet; perhaps a sin to your relationship and/or children if you don't use common sense, i suppose.
These are not really sins, but they are called "the pure lack of wisdom".

Yes....scripturally speaking. We are called be good stewards of the blessings we receive. We should use our money to take care of our own families respectively, and bless and help those who do not have as much.
