I believe that the things we do - for good or ill - tend to create situations that we find we have to confront later. If you are a hateful person who lives to make others miserable, for examply, the day will come when you need the very same people you've treated badly, and they won't be there for you.
So, in effect, we DO make our own karma, and we either benefit or suffer the consequences of our own actions.

I believe in some of the basic aspects of Karma. It's something I see playing out every day... people get in return what they put out into the world.

Sure, I believe that is the order of things. I believe we make our own karma. Do enough bad things, eventually it is going to catch up to you, do good, and eventually good things will happen to you, if not only through the joy it brings into your life.
