Considering the car is a Ford, and it's reputation as a non-dependable car, and seeing how the car is also in it's last stages of engine life, it wouldn't be a good buy. Another factor is that the V6 engine might need a tune-up or engine rebuild [along with all the mileage the transmission has endured]. The compression ratio for performance cars aren't as good as in their earlier stages, especially if the car wasn't pampered.
This car in a "good" condition should sell at around $4500 according to the Kelly Blue Book. I'd say you'd be paying this money just to repair it.
Keep looking! There's bound to be a better one out there.

you would be unable to circulate incorrect with the two one for specific! i might say that i might have confidence the Ford variety a great way formerly the avert/Chrysler variety. i've got self assurance Ford's longevity and reliability are better. yet what particularly concerns is what you think of roughly it emotionally. IMHO, the Mustang is likewise lots extra effectual looking with extra effectual coping with a needless to say extra effectual image. My spouse genuinely worked on Mustang jointly as working at ford so i'm very biased here, yet i would be unable to the familiar public no longer feeling that it has a extra effectual image. the difficulty I genuinely have approximately avert is the economic state of the business company. And once you're searching for a used motor vehicle, that is sturdy to bear in mind that if avert struggles so will all aspects of its business company - like provider, components, sellers, and so on. you will additionally see the fee of your motor vehicle drop. Ford is a robust business company genuine now, so if that provides into your thinking the respond is a lot extra obtrusive. I extra a pair of links to 3 comments on the two vehicles so which you would be able to take a peek at what human beings wanting to purchase (or offered) think of roughly the two vehicles.

Take it to a mechanic and have it checked out before you buy. It'll cost you a few dollars but that's better than making a mistake and having ot live with it. I hope the car is a GT model. They'll hold their value better, but insurance will be more.

Make sure the top does not have any holes where water can leak in. That seems to be a common problem with them. Usually occurs on the rear corner where the top, window, and car join together.

How much are you paying? How is the interior and exterior? Are there any noticable leaks? Any other problems? Did you test drive it? Need more info here.
