Are you planning on getting married or having kids anytime soon? If not who cares what your family thinks, it's your life. If he really is someone special to you and it hurts you to know your family doesn't like him, try to arrange a meeting either for dinner or something where maybe they can get to know him better. Keep in mind your family will be more objective about him than you will be, if he seems controlling of you or is rude to them they may be seeing something that you don't. Good Luck!

Do what makes you happy.
Sure, family is a very important factor in one's life, but there comes a time when you actually do get to choose a family member - your hubby! If you like the addition of your boyfriend in your life, keep him there.
If you like having your family's respect and blessing, just explain to them that he makes you happy, and how much you love him and he loves you. Tell them that nothing they say will change your mind, but you would really like them to continue to be a part of your lives.

If you have a good family who love and support you, then listen to them! They usually have a good idea about who is right for you and they only want the best for you. Don't learn the hard way. Listen to your family and you'll save yourself a lot of aggravation and heartache.

Decide who is probably a better judge of what is right for you at this stage in your life, you or your family.
Sadly, if your family does not like him then the relationship has little chance of lasting long. Successful relationships bring families together.

if you like him then you should be with him, if he treats you right and acts like a gentalman then he is Mr. Right.
if your family dont like him what does it matter you have to be happy for yourself and not for them.

find out if any of the reasons that they don't like him are good reasons and make sense. if they are try to solve them and see what happens.
